*** 93 MLAs, Two Years, No Action ***
Over the past two years, I have written to all 93 of British Columbiaâs MLAs, more than once. With a snap election underway, Iâm pausing to reflect on what came back.
When I started, I was excited. I believed what weâre all taught: if something is wrong, contact your MLA, and something will change. Looking back, maybe that was gullible.
My concerns involve freedom of information requests, policy, and above all election administration. Part of what I wrote came from personal grievance, and I wonât pretend otherwise. But at their core these are issues that, in my view, affect every British Columbian regardless of how they vote. That is why I took a non-partisan approach and wrote to every member, not only my own.
I wrote those concerns out in detail, respectfully and civilly. I still remember that moment: sitting at my computer for hours, personalizing each one and sending them one at a time.
One example stays with me. I asked to speak before the committee on democratic and electoral reform. I had waited and prepared for that moment for nearly a year. The answer was a âbi-partisanâ no. The one thing the parties seemed to agree on was that they didnât want to hear from the public. It was a stark reminder, especially after they had asked for public participation.
Now, as I think about who to vote for, Iâm troubled by how fractured the choice feels. Every option comes with a warning. Donât vote, and you canât complain about the result.
Donât vote, and you hand the current government another term. Vote for the Opposition, and youâre told youâre really voting Liberal. Vote Green, and you split the NDP vote. Vote CentreBC, OneBC, or any of the smaller parties, and you split the vote somewhere else. Vote for either of the top two parties, and youâre told youâre voting for the âuniparty.â
The message underneath all of it is the same: donât vote your conscience. And then there are the black-pilled, who say donât vote at all, because nothing will change no matter who wins. Whatever bubble of opinion you find yourself in, it starts to feel as though you donât own your vote. Or maybe itâs simpler than that: every faction of the political spectrum is playing mind games to secure your vote, for power and authority over how our province is governed.
But the real issue isnât who I vote for. Itâs what came back. Out of 93 members, three replied: one with a note, one with a thank you, one with a deflection. My emails to the other 90 landed in the auto-reply bin: an automated acknowledgement, then silence. Not one member said, âYouâre right, thatâs a problem. Letâs solve it. What can I do, or what can we do together?â
Two years now. No action.
So what am I voting for, if I canât find a voice in the legislature?
âIt seems like a lot of the politicians in Canada refuse accountabilityâ
"We're the conduit for holding people to account. That's the job of the media: to hold power to account. I think the media in Canada has failed Canadians in that regard."
Scott Reid and Kory Teneycke agree with Mark Carney. You have to be worried about a Military invasion from U.S.
Trump is a REAL THREAT cozying up with Putin, Xi Jing Ping, Kim Jung Un
*** Knowing the Answer Isn't the Same as Getting It ***
No available solution is self-executing. Each runs through a gatekeeper the public can neither compel nor afford to reach.
Including the ones meant to fix it.

Invest in Canada?
Capital doesnât come here for the scenery. It comes because Canada is the stable on-ramp to the $32 trillion American market next door. Resources and âpolitical stabilityâ are nice features but market access is the product.
Picking a trade war with an economy 13Ă our size, while our investment thesis depends largely on privileged access to that same economy isnât a strategy. Itâs forgetting why the money showed up.
The Carnage Lieberal Government is playing a very dangerous game with our future. The EU and China are not the answer. We need to focus on a strong and prosperous North American alliance. So suck it up and get the deal done.
Lake America EXPOSED THE DOUBLE STANDARD And Canada Discovered HISTORY MATTERS Overnight!!
They already renamed streets, squares, universities, parkways, a stop sign, the national anthem, and even a syrup bottle and called it reconciliation.
Then one executive order later, names suddenly became sacred heritage that must never be touched.
This video is about the double standard, not the water.
Ontario stays Ontario in Canada.
The point is the script flipped 180° and they hoped you wouldnât notice.
