Subject: Urgent Appeal for Protection of the Kurdish Nation’s Dignity and Legal Response to Defamatory and Inciting Speech
Your Excellencies,
I am writing to urgently bring to your attention a serious incident of public defamation against the Kurdish nation by a journalist who, without presenting any verified evidence or awaiting the outcome of the relevant police investigation, labeled Kurds as “terrorists” in a widely circulated social media post.
This statement not only constitutes a grave act of collective defamation but also falls within the scope of hate speech and incitement to ethnic discrimination, as prohibited under international human rights law, including Article 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the UN International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD). Such rhetoric, especially when disseminated by media figures, carries the dangerous potential to incite hostility, prejudice, and even violence against Kurdish individuals worldwide.
It is a matter of public record that the Kurdish people have historically engaged in peaceful cooperation with many nations, including maintaining a longstanding relationship of friendship and mutual support with the State of Israel. The legitimate political aspiration of the Kurdish people for self-determination and an end to the occupation of Kurdistan is protected under international law (Article 1 of the ICCPR and ICESCR) and cannot lawfully be equated with terrorism.
In light of the above, I respectfully urge your Excellencies to:
1.Issue an official public statement condemning defamatory and inciting speech targeting the Kurdish nation.
2.Mandate the Kurdistan Regional Government’s legal representatives to pursue legal action against individuals and organizations engaged in such acts of collective defamation, both domestically and internationally.
3.Coordinate with international human rights bodies and press freedom organizations to ensure accountability for violations of ethical journalism standards.
4.Promote a global awareness campaign affirming the Kurdish people’s contribution to peace, democracy, and regional stability, countering false narratives that undermine our legitimacy.
The protection of the Kurdish nation’s dignity is not merely a political necessity—it is a legal and moral imperative. Failure to respond decisively to such incidents risks normalizing dangerous stereotypes, emboldening those who seek to marginalize our people, and weakening our standing in the international community.
I trust in your leadership to safeguard the honor, reputation, and internationally recognized rights of the Kurdish people. I remain at your disposal should you require further documentation or evidence regarding this incident.
Respectfully
Rojhat Mokri

proxies and see how much trouble they’ve caused for the region, especially for the Kurds and Israel. It’s like trying to fix a leaky boat by just swapping the captain, while ignoring the holes in the hull!
You nailed it!
How clueless you have to be to think that Iran’s problems will be solved just by changing one regime?
There’s a deep-rooted mindset in every ruling government in Iran the revival of ancient Iranian power. Just look at their
Iranian Nationalism is exactly the same as Palestinian Nationalism. It is a fantasy sold to gullible westerners to justify a fantasy of peaceful Muslims just looking for friends in a mean world. It is an ideology of conquest.
