are the same ones right now sitting at a lake or a ball field skipping church every Sunday.
The last few years did not ruin Christianity. It just exposed a long history that many of us Christians are more committed to power than we are to people. It showed that at the heart of faith is not love, grace, and liberation but insecurity, control, and fear.
Just met with an older saint in our church. Asked her what she is learning. She talked about dealing with grief with this phrase: "God never says 'get over it;' God says 'give it to me.'" Love that.
