Empowering Women is Empowering the Society. When we empower a woman, we strengthen a family; when we strengthen families, we build stronger communities; and when our communities prosper, Katsina prospers.
Today in Katsina, we had the privilege of welcoming the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, @KashimSM, GCON, for the flag-off of the Community Investment Fund under the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU).
More than 40,000 women across Katsina State are set to benefit from this intervention, providing them with access to capital to expand their businesses, strengthen household incomes and build sustainable livelihoods.
For us, this is more than a financial intervention. It is an investment in the strength of our families, the resilience of our communities and the economic future of Katsina State.
I deeply appreciate the Federal Government, the World Bank and our development partners for their continued support. Katsina State has demonstrated strong ownership of the programme by committing N4 billion, which has enabled the expansion of NFWP-SU from six Local Government Areas to all 34 LGAs.
I have also appealed for additional funding and technical support so that we can reach even more women, particularly those in underserved communities.
I am especially encouraged by the participation of women with hearing impairment who have formed their own Women Affinity Groups. Their inclusion reflects our commitment to ensuring that disability never becomes a barrier to economic opportunity.
To all beneficiaries, I urge you to see this support as a seed for growth. Invest wisely, keep proper records, sustain your savings culture and continue working together to build stronger and more resilient businesses.
