My view on the $TRUMP Mar-a-Lago luncheon π
Today, a sitting U.S. president is hosting a private lunch for the top holders of his own meme token. Top 297 get in. Top 29 get a VIP champagne reception. Mike Tyson on the guest list.
Let's call this what it is.
This is a textbook manipulation playbook β only this time it's wrapped in a presidential brand. Hold more tokens. Climb the leaderboard. Get face-time with the most powerful man in the world.
That's not "utility." That's paid access dressed up as an event.
What it actually does: β Pumps the price into the leaderboard cutoff window β Rewards the biggest wallets (often insiders) at the expense of late retail β Sends the message that crypto = pay-to-play with politicians
Crypto has spent years fighting the "scam industry" label. This one move sets us back further than most realize.
I'm long-term bullish on this space. I'm not bullish on the precedent it creates.
A sitting president shouldn't be running a token economy where access = cash.
