Possible hot take, but I think I'd prefer a nominated rep choosing a squad for each country in ENC Apex, like OWWC used to do. Especially for the 20 'guaranteed slots'.

The potential upside of a merit-based squad winning out in a BR series with 6 games, I think is outweighed by what all we want to see - the big names at LAN. These events are few and far between for Apex fans, and the potential for upsets here is huge.

Losing in a head-to-head matchup is one thing, coming 2nd in an American BR lobby of 20, which could well be harder than groups at LAN is something else entirely...

Would love to see the ALGS take advantage of these numbers and slot another ALGS LAN into the calendar somehow. The grip Match Point has on an audience is elite, and although I’m wary of over saturation of the calendar, one more LAN would be peak.
