@acekatana @el_tragon_de_LA Yeah, the journalist definitely doesn’t push back as much as they could/should, but the interviews from other folks + Nury’s own words and lack of reflection or insight felt pretty damning to me. Maybe that’s my own listener bias, but sometimes people just dig their own grave

@ColinBest1978 @henrymance At the very least, those require special licenses to drive. Perhaps if people want to drive increasingly powerful, large, and heavy cars, they should too! Also, it’s my understanding commercial trucks are banned from many surface streets where most pedestrians are.

And if we want independent creators (whether in fashion, film, etc.) to exist, we have to acknowledge they aren’t explicitly creating product from 9-5 & the “hourly” wage from selling also needs to cover the pure “down” time needed to come up with these masterpieces!

@leftfemme If you can, have a set weekly meeting with each intern (even if just 30 mins) just in case things get busy and you aren't able to get as much time with them as you hope day-to-day. Use this to chat about the work but also get to know them! Also seconding boundaries re: hours.
