Let’s gooooooooooo
i love my Nigerian friends and will never understand people downplaying them
it absolutely does not matter where you’re from, the whole reason this space is awesome is because you get to meet people from everywhere across the world
if you’re from nigeria just know that i will absolutely always support you🫶🏼
Sad to see bad comments against Nigerians in crypto.
Not new, Not surprised.
Indian devs build half the tools we use, yet get questioned every day.
I’ll never support that.
One of the best things about crypto is I’ve made friends and had calls with people from all over the world.
Much love to my followers from Nigeria and India.
You will always have a friend here❤️🇳🇬🇮🇳
I’m glad all the drama finally ended the way they did.
@WazzCrypto & @0x5f_eth MUST be cancelled for eternity.
Nigerians couldn’t possibly the problem of web3, and this racism that has eaten deep into the ecosystem has to end.
Are there bad guys?
Of course, just like there are anywhere in the world.
When FTX crashed, no one pointed a stereotype at all Americans. The fingers for the nearly $8 billion worth scam was pointed squarely to SBF and Alameda research.
Tell me, how much of the investigations from @zachxbt originate from Nigeria?
Nigerians must not be ashamed to admit their nationality.
Good and fine, other countries dominate in terms of products and protocols… but they’re all useless without the users.
We’re not bots, neither are we irrelevant.
In a politically messed country of over 227 million people, it’s only normal for people to strive for a better life.
The Nigerian landscape has become the perfect test field for the decentralized ideologies of web3.
We have the largest crypto community across the African continent that rivals any other in the globe.
Without a doubt even, the Nigerian crypto community has to be the most engaging and active one in all of CT.
It’s disheartening to see clowns call the CTNG a ‘plague’ or take advantage of our hype and eventually call it ‘fake metrics’.
All it may take is time, but these Naija guys that you call consumers would eventually dominate on the production side too.
To my Nigerian Fam, make una no send anybody.
The system has been designed to make us appear inferior for too long.
It’s all a lie.
Let’s build even harder, till it becomes impossible to ignore or joke with us.
Shoutout to all the KOLs who stood up for our demographic today - @wilson_, @farmercist, @Bellickkruz, @teddi_speaks (too many to tag)…
Shoutout to the foreign guys who stood for the Nigerian community as well..
Truth be told, decentralization is for everyone and Nigerians shouldn’t be exempted.
Peace ✌🏽 🇳🇬
Since y'all defending this bad behaviour are trying to deviate from the real issues, let me rewind back with these summary.
Racist and Derogatory Remarks by Serpin Taxt (Ethos Founder) Against Nigerians on X:
While scrolling through X recently, I checked for updates about Ethos on the founder’s handle, as I do daily, and came across the derogatory tweets below. Initially, the first tweet seemed mild, but the comment section, particularly Serpin Taxt’s conversation with
@WazzCrypto, revealed troubling remarks.
In the main tweet, Serpin posted:
"> airdrop NFT
4x spike in Nigerian users
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬" Link: https://t.co/KxcsJSQRw7
In the comments, @WazzCrypto replied:
"Honestly, they are kind of a plague. I helped a project a few years ago, and as soon as something hinting at free money was mentioned, they spread like a disease. They grew to like 90% of the Discord members and gamed all the contests in their favor. Very low-value users." Link: https://t.co/Oo8BcKy6QO
To my surprise, Serpin Taxt responded:
"Yup, 100%. I need a better sense of $ spent per person per country, heh." Link: https://t.co/0dE6rPLu3O
It didn’t end there. Another X user, @ebukaarcryppted, replied to Serpin, asking:
"Honest question: Deep down, do Nigerians in Web3 irritate you? What comes to your mind first when you hear the word ‘Nigerian’?" Link:https://t.co/UD2B2uxGQJ
Serpin’s response was: "Prince."
Link: https://t.co/u6UoCgMbKv
This confirmed my view that he holds racist views. For clarity, "Nigerian prince" is an internet slur implying scammer or fraudster, rooted in scams that have unfairly tainted Nigeria’s image. Over the years, countless hardworking Nigerians have worked to dismantle this stereotype. It’s appalling for a founder to label an entire nationality as scammers. Many Nigerian Ethos users have invested hard-earned money and time delivering quality reviews, yet Serpin’s comment insinuates they are all fraudsters.
This uncalled-for statement was deeply upsetting. Billions are stolen in this industry monthly, rarely by Nigerians. The largest Sybil attacks uncovered often involve actors from Asia, Europe, or the Americas, yet no one broadly labels those demographics as "plagues" or "low-value users." Nigerians like Eman Abio, co-founder of Mysten Labs (behind Sui), have made significant contributions to Web3. Imagine how such individuals feel seeing these racist remarks about their nationality.
I called Serpin Taxt’s attention to these comments, but he refused to publicly apologize or rephrase his tweets for clarity, despite building a "reputation" platform. How can a founder champion reputation while showing no respect for an entire nationality? This behavior must not be tolerated, as it sets a dangerous precedent. Web3, inspired by Satoshi’s vision for Bitcoin, stands for inclusivity, access, freedom, privacy, and respect—values Serpin undermines.
In light of these developments, I believe those who oppose racism in our industry will support this action to condemn his behavior.
Below is additional evidence that Serpin Taxt’s remarks target Nigerians broadly, not just bad actors, as he claims.
On March 6, 2025,
@brokebrah tweeted:
"For reference, the most hyped projects at the moment—
@megaeth
,
@monad_xyz
,
@base
, and
@Somnia_Network
are not even close to 500k members. Monad is an exception, and they took over a year to build their community." Link:https://t.co/egke1pAGFz
Serpin replied:
"Most of the time, they aren’t even bots. They’re farmers in Nigeria/Philippines, who I guess, in theory, could also be bots. Ask me how I know." Link:https://t.co/jaLAuw1q8v
Another instance:
@0x_ultra
tweeted:
"꧁IP꧂ usernames are all over my feed, and
@StoryProtocol
recently announced its tokenomics and plans. It seems like most of the community comes from Asian markets. Can anyone explain why we need an intellectual property chain and why you’re bullish on Story? I just don’t see it. Links to breakdown threads and TLDRs are much appreciated." Link: https://t.co/ModxnzRrmu
Serpin responded:
"As a current founder who has had their protocol farmed, I can tell you without a doubt these IP username farmers are in Nigeria. Same with CLONE and the puzzle piece one." Link: https://t.co/RIcGB8ndZU
Repeatedly, Serpin singles out Nigerians as "farmers" across different tweets, ignoring that every region has bad actors. This gaslighting and targeted attacks on the Nigerian community cannot be ignored.
Fighting bad actors is a collective responsibility. We must call them out directly, regardless of nationality, without generalizing entire demographics as scammers

How much have you made so far with Web3 Jobs?
If you're yet to make a reasonable amount, that can help you stay positioned for the bullrun or bag your first job.
Then you're probably doing the wrong thing.
Jobs alone can change your life.
Without having in-depth and technical knowledge on Web3, this tweet will open your eyes to the new market and how to seal gigs easily.
Firstly, I'll say newbies complain without even putting in any work.
So if you know you're part of those guys who put in minimal or no efforts expecting massive gains, then stop reading already.
These 3 powerful points will change your game:
➭ Cold DMs still work.
But it favors people who already have an obvious or seen value. So before thinking of doing 100 effective cold DMs again while not building your portfolio in a way that is still very irresistible?
Show expertise on your page. Especially if you're hunting on X, let your page speak for you.
If you're hunting on Telegram, let your bio carry links or tags to an irresistible proof of work.
If it's on Discord, do the same thing and connect your socials so founders who eventually open your message can examine you.
→
➭ The job space isn't saturated. It's simply moving from a hiring-based to a referral-based system.
Founders are aware that they are lots of job hunters and less of value providers in the space currently, and 60% will rather go for recommendations than starting a fresh recuting process.
So in this case, to have an edge, build relationships and connections with other people and founders in this space while still showing your expertise.
And it's easy; make them cherish you by providing free value. Brainstorm ideas on how to make people cherish you, and through this, you would start Getting referred by these guys if you can show them why they need to trust you.
→
➭ If hunting for jobs isn't working for you, apply for ambassador programs. While doing this, get ready to say now to projects that want your time and energy but aren't ready to offer anything valuable to you.
To find ambassador programs easily, use the search key word 'ambassador program'and you'll see a lot.
My challenge for you is to apply for 10 per day, then, in a month, come back with a testimony.
Don't dare to procrastinate these Alphas.
Start implementing now!
