The NHS collapse - it has taken just 13 years - take a look at this from Channel 4 News
Then share it so that people can be reminded that things were better and can be again
More cheap headlines which fail to acknowledge (1) how the NHS is under-managed; and (2) how important management and administrative capacity are in supporting clinical staff. And (3) the derogatory language around ‘pen pushers’ is beyond depressing.

PRIMARY CARE COLLAPSE
Without a workforce plan for the NHS, staff shortages and vacancies will continue impacting patient care.
@MiPhealth join 40 other health organisations calling for this plan to be published. You can't plan health services and treat patients without staff.
We’re going to spend decades negotiating to help tackle the impact of Brexit on everything from the music industry and the City of London to car manufacturing and tourism. Instead, why can’t politicians explain to voters why it’s in the U.K’s interest to be inside the single market and customs union. There is no country in Western Europe that isn’t in some combination of these, or is applying to join. How are we the only one whose national interest is to be entirely separate from the continent’s market structures? I honestly think politicians underestimate the intelligence of voters. Nobody has really bothered to explain to people what the single market and customs union actually do.
The NHS Staff Council, which includes all unions involved in the NHS pay dispute in England, has voted to accept the govt's pay offer.
NHS workers must now receive this additional money as soon as possible. Thank you to all our members and colleagues who secured this deal.
Another packed out session for our Workplace Well-being panellists. Such an important subject. “it has to come from our leaders” - Anoushka Farouk #healthplucareshow#ihscmnc
What does the future of integrated care look, feel and sound like to get consistent excellence from ICSs? “Good Leadership, workforce planning that gets those delivering Care on-board & a unified measurement of success”.
“We need to focus on outcomes” - Elaine O’Brien #ihscmnc
@IHM_tweets 😂 Maybe too much based on how much I garbled my first answer, but I think the rest made sense! Thanks @IHM_tweets@jonwilksTNT for inviting me. How we make sure integrated care actually happens is a very important conversation to have.

Really enjoyed speaking at the @MiPhealth fringe event at the @unisontheunion Health Conference yesterday. Great discussion with MiP and Unison colleagues and some really important issues raised for us to work on...

And there's more @MiPhealth needs to do to help managers to understand the value of unions - and hopefully to join one themselves. Too many managers think that unions cause problems and don't think union membership is for them. We've got to win more managers over.

Very interested to see the report from the Hewitt review. There's a big opportunity here to give ICSs the autonomy and resources they need to do things that will work for local populations and stop the one-template-fits-all overload from regional/national teams. We shall see...
Empowering local leaders or a ministerial ploy to rein in NHS England?
Patricia Hewitt's review of Integrated Care Systems in England may have major implications for how power is devolved in the NHS. Our view on the review, informed by our members 👇
