Based at Georgetown University's @mccourtschool, CCF is a nonpartisan policy and research center with a mission to improve health coverage for kids & families.
Medicaid is the MVP of the healthcare system serving the needs of people across the lifespan. @GeorgetownCCF published a series of fact sheets explaining how Medicaid helps bring down costs and meets the needs of America’s families. https://t.co/0UjKL4eSDk
My statement on the new Medicaid work reporting requirement is below.
Short take: Winners = tech vendors
Losers = 1. people with chronic and acute conditions like cancer and SUD;
2. states trying to implement the rule responsibly.
A new @GeorgetownCCF report shows a troubling trend for young children in Arkansas. More than 16,400 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers were uninsured in Arkansas in 2024, a 67.7% increase in just two years. Read more: https://t.co/v1OsK8jd01
We can all agree that no child should have to go without health care. But, in 2024, more than 40,600 infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Ohio did not have health insurance, according to a report from @GeorgetownCCF.
Health insurance helps young children get the care they need to grow, learn, and thrive—from regular checkups to early screenings and preventive care.

Ater years of progress, our nation is backsliding, leaving more infants, toddlers, and preschoolers without health insurance. This should be a loud wake-up call for federal and state policymakers. https://t.co/qAS4Dqdpx2
New report: Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the nation of kids under the age of six, at 10.8%.

The # of children enrolled in Medicaid is ⬇️ much more quickly than during Trump’s 1st term when the uninsured rate rose.
For families facing cost pressures, even 1 month of a child going uninsured exposes them to dangerous choices.

Our updated @georgetownccf tracker finds that 16 months into President Trump’s 2nd term, Medicaid is covering 2 million fewer children.
This is very bad news b/c the child uninsured rate is likely going up as a result.
And this is before HR 1 Medicaid cuts kick in.
👀 New Proposed Medicaid rule from Trump Administration goes way beyond what Congress put in HR1 and ⬆️ the cuts from $149B to $510B👀

I wonder if they checked the math this time since they had to retract their claims about alleged Medicaid fraud in NY which were grossly inaccurate.

👀👀 New from CBO - 3 million kids will lose Medicaid bcuz of the Trump budget bill last year with huge cuts to Medicaid.
Remember the rhetoric that kids would be protected? Not so.
When kids lose Medicaid the child uninsured rate goes up.

Expect more restrictions on states here.

Listening to the webinar on the rollout of the findings and I’m struck by how helpful the Medicaid work reporting requirements will be for Deloitte’s bottom line.
