@artemisallyce Hence why National Hero is usually given posthumously. It always time for the country to see how this persons actions have benefited the whole. There were other ways to award her "Dame Robin" for example during in her life time.
@artemisallyce I'm a creative. I believe the arts make culture. Truth is she could have done actions worthy of National hero title later in her career but now this early selection has made it a case where she must now "live up" to a title. National Hero is a heavy burden
@artemisallyce Samuel Jackman Prescod was thrown in jail and continued to write and fight for black persons to have the right to choose their elected officials. Sir Gary does lead to questions but I believe it was because he achieved the height of sporting acclaim in a colonial world.
