Each time I come here to talk about the dire consequences of yahoo and criminality, some of you will be asking me stupid questions like..

"what of our politicians?"

As if politicians have not been stealing even before Nigeria had her independence.

Stolen money in the hands of small boys, is a very dangerous weapon to themselves, & to the society at large.

They'll destroy your little sisters, daughters and even some of your wives.

If you sit down & critically analyze these ills, you'll blame politicians no doubt, but you'll stop using them as an excuse.

Some of us electorates, are even the ones that encourage these politicians to steal.

If they don't steal to share around, they're not guaranteed to win another election.

We have encouraged stealing without shame or remorse, so much in our country.

And the resultant effect is what we are seeing today.

As parents, you may do our best to give your kids the godly or right upbringing.

But the society is by far more powerful, & they can ruin your kids for you.

That's for parents that are doing their best.

However, this menace will not be so widespread, if many parents did not endorse it.

Especially mothers.

So before you use the politicians as a comfortable excuse, look at your father and mother first.

Do they know that you're a thief?

What are they saying or doing about it?

I wasn’t even supposed to be in court today.

Three minutes before I arrived, I was informed that my matter wasn’t listed in the cause list, the registrar had given me a wrong date. Ordinarily, I would have turned back to the office, but something in me insisted on going into the courtroom.

Nothing prepared me for what I saw just ten minutes later.

A young girl in her early 20s walked in, holding her one month old baby, dressed in prison uniform.

I gently asked her what had happened. She told me she had put to bed inside the prison barely a month ago. She had been arrested in April for a misdemeanor, while pregnant and had remained in custody since then. She was also standing trial without a lawyer.

When her case was called, I immediately rose and announced appearance for her.

The complainant was not in court.
The prosecutor was present today, but not ready to proceed.
They had not been attending court for several adjournments.

So I urged the court to strike out the matter and acquit the defendant, relying on the relevant provisions of the ACJL Lagos and the applicable case law.

Your Honour, Mrs. A. K. Dosunmu Uthman, struck out the charge, discharged and acquitted her and the entire courtroom erupted in applause.

John Mary, young mother who walked in wearing prison clothes walked out a free woman.

I left the courtroom smiling, deeply convinced that God directed my steps today.

Jay is a fine young man living with Oral cancer in Uyo. His treatment takes place in Calabar, so he has to travel about 3 hours each way for treatment. He is undergoing 6 cycles of chemo for N500k each, which is what he could afford. However, a better treatment exists for N1.2m per cycle, which amounts to N7.2m. He will also need reconstructive surgery after the chemo is completed.

So far, the public has raised N4.2m for him. Cancer is aggressive, so we can not say how much in total would be needed. But we will complete the chemo treatment balance for him.

After the chemo, he would need facial reconstructive surgery. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine has been quietly fighting a very aggressive form of oral cancer since 2022. He is a private person and reaching out for help took everything in him. He has already gone through radiotherapy and is now struggling to complete the chemotherapy he needs before major reconstructive surgery.

I am doing what I can to support him, but the financial burden is far beyond what he can carry alone and I really need help getting him the assistance he needs. If you are able to help or know someone who can, please reach out to me. This is someone who genuinely needs support to stay alive.

I was born a Jehovah’s Witness. (No longer is) but my parents and siblings still are.

Our second son died because my parents refused him blood transfusion. (He was a sickle cell patient) and they’re hoping to see him again in “paradise” because he died “upholding his beliefs” (an 8yo boy oo)

My mom’s sister died during childbirth because she needed blood transfusion but was also “upholding her beliefs”

My cousin died during a major surgery that needed blood transfusions because she’s “upholding her belief” of NO BLOOD TRANSFUSION.

So nothing happens in cases like Aunty Esther’s. If she pull through, glory be to Jehovah, but if she doesn’t, she died “upholding her beliefs” and she “sure has resurrection hope”.
