Tuition, $514 becomes $3,866. You listed $11,950. Real increase, 3.1x.

Still bad. I am not pretending otherwise, and nobody is throwing a parade. But the gap between what you posted and what is true is wide enough to drive a bus through, and you were counting on nobody looking.

The ACA COVID subsidies were written as TEMPORARY in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, then extended as TEMPORARY in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. NOT ONE Republican voted for either bill. You voted for BOTH, @BernieSanders. You set the expiration date yourself, with your own hand, which makes the outrage about as credible as a handshake agreement with a used-car salesman.

Then your party shut the government down for 43 days demanding them back, which was a public confession, on the record, that a law named the AFFORDABLE Care Act is not affordable without emergency pandemic cash. The new CR passed. The government is open. That confession is still sitting in the transcript, and no press release is going to sand it off. They lie like fish swim.

Translated into plain English: "Last December my boss gave me a $1,000 bonus. This December he did not. Therefore he cut my pay and he is heartless." Take that argument to an actual employer and report back. Whoever drafted it could not pour water out of a boot with the instructions printed on the heel, and as a policy position it is about as useful as a solar-powered flashlight.

And why are YOU the loudest defender of routing every American through a government-guaranteed insurance conglomerate, rather than Health Savings Accounts and real price transparency, where the patient holds the dollar and the provider competes for it? Your side lit candles for Luigi Mangione over his hatred of that industry. Now you are its most reliable revenue stream. Pick a lane. You have more positions than a yoga instructor and less spine than a jellyfish.

Trying to reason with this is like trying to baptize a cat.

WHAT HAVE YOU ACTUALLY DELIVERED?

Sworn in January 1991. Thirty-five years in Congress. Congresswebsitee lists over four hundred bills you led as primary sponsor. THREE became law. Two of them renamed post offices in Vermont. Four hundred swings, three contacts, two of them buildings that already existed.

He has been in Congress so long the only thing he has passed is gas.

The brain is an amazing organ. It starts working in the womb and does not stop until you get elected to Congress.

Thirty-five years of this exact post. Same slides, new dates. Delusions of adequacy dressed up as a movement. Trillions in promises and never once a figure that survives contact with a calculator. If we discovered life on Mars, your caucus would try to send it money.

We have not had a real budget since Moby Dick was a minnow. There is always money for the next program and never a nickel to fix the last one, and somehow that is everyone's fault except the fault of the men who wrote it. Enough money to burn a wet mule, and not one dollar of accountability attached to any of it.

MY OWN MODEST PROPOSAL

Since price is apparently just a policy choice, allow me one. Mandatory GPA redistribution. Every student above a 3.5 surrenders points to every student below a 2.0. Everyone graduates. Nobody left behind. This is not a radical idea. It is just common sense, and I say that with a straight face, which is more than your last budget resolution managed.

While we are at it, free ice cream every Monday, and the store simply eats the cost. Also common sense. If stupidity were a renewable resource, this chamber would have solved the energy crisis in 1974.

We cannot run the greatest economy in human history on fairy dust and unicorn urine. Apparently we can run a gradebook on it. If that struck you as blatherskite, congratulations, you have now audited my entire objection to your economics.

Rep. A.S. Herlong Jr. read 45 Communist Goals into the permanent record. Goal 17: get control of the schools and use them as transmission belts for socialism. Read that list, then read your platform, and tell me it is a coincidence with a straight face.

Wages are not decreed. They are agreed. Two free people shake hands. An employer offers, a worker accepts or walks, and if nobody accepts, the employer raises the offer or closes the doors. That is not exploitation, that is arithmetic, and treating it as villainy is a Billy-goat brain attached to a mockingbird mouth.

Price labor above what it produces and the least-skilled worker does not receive a raise. He receives a locked door. No first job, no resume, no rung one, and a lifetime of dependency he will vote to protect, because he is rational and you engineered his only rational choice. That is not compassion. That is a trap with a ribbon on it.

Every party that ever needed an underclass called it something noble. The antebellum South called it care. Jim Crow called it order. Yours calls it compassion. Same architecture, better branding, and in a battle of wits your economics would show up unarmed.

You cannot fix stupid. But you can vote it out of office.

But what do I know. I am only a high school science teacher, a medically retired Army combat medic, and a man who ran the deflator before he posted the chart.

There is an old promise in this country that a person who works hard, full time, will not be poor. That the job will be enough. For millions of people that promise is quietly no longer true, and we have built an economy where almost no one has to say so out loud.

A federal audit released this month found that most working adults on Medicaid are not part-time or occasional workers. They hold full-time jobs. 66% of them. 13.8 million people who go to work every morning and still cannot afford to see a doctor without help from the rest of us.

They are not idle people. They open the store before dawn. They stock the shelves you shop, they drive the packages to your door, they stand at the register while their own feet ache. They do the work. The work simply no longer pays enough to live on, and it is worth asking, plainly, why.

It is not a mystery. A worker at the median at Walmart made $30,520 last year. In the same company, in the same year, the chief executive was paid close to $29 million, and the company spent $37.6 billion buying back its own stock. Amazon earned $77 billion in profit while the number of its workers on public aid nearly tripled. They are not failing companies. They are among the most successful enterprises in human history. They can afford to pay their people. They have chosen instead to let the rest of us cover the difference.

I do not say this to turn you against the woman ahead of you in the checkout line paying with public benefits. She is doing nothing wrong. She is working. The mistake we are encouraged to make, again and again, is to look down the line at one another instead of up at the arrangement that put us all in it. A country can be talked into resenting the poor. It is a much harder thing to get it to resent a quarterly report.

We pay for this twice. Once at the register, for the low price. Again in the spring, on our taxes, for the public aid that makes the low price possible. The savings were always real. We were simply never told who was paying for them.

None of this breaks the law. It is no comfort. It means the law was written to permit it, and a law can be rewritten. It means this was a choice, and a choice can be made another way.

The people who do this work are not asking for charity. They are asking for the old promise to be kept, that a full day of work should be enough to live a full life. It is not a radical thing to want. It is the most ordinary thing in the world, and it should trouble us that it has come to sound like too much.

They will open the store again tomorrow morning. The least we owe them is to stop pretending we do not know why they are still poor.

There are over 8 billion people on this earth. Most things that happen will occur only to a small percentage of the population.

The entire island of Cape Verde could be blown off the map, and it would still only affect 0.006% of the population.

Less than 0.04% of all deaths are due to school shootings, but it's still an important topic.

Only 0.00013% of planes ever crash, but we still need to be incredibly diligent about flight safety.

The World Cup final was one of millions in the year, but that doesn't mean a rigged game could be brushed off as "Doesn't matter. We'll allow it because it was only 0.0001% of all games."

And out of all the people to claim that small percentages render a topic or a population meaningless, these certainly shouldn't be the ones doing so considering boys who pretend to be girls make up less than 0.005% of all athletes.

Using these laws regarding percentages, the percentage of athletes who are boys calling themselves "girls" is so irrelevant, the "impact" of keeping them off girls' teams isn't even worth mentioning.

How many Jews live in Algeria, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Mauritania, Djibouti, and Comoros, Iraq, Egypt, and Lebanon cumulatively?

The answer is a whopping 0. That’s a zero.

Zero Jews live in all of these Arab countries.

In 1948, the main Arab countries + Iran held roughly 850,000 to 1 million Jews.

Now, tell me again who is guilty of ethnic cleansing: Israel, where millions of Arabs live with total freedom and achieve high levels of success, or the Arab world that has actively kicked all Jews out of their countries?

What would happen if I walked into an Arab town, city, or country as a Jew who doesn’t hide his identity?

What would happen to me if I entered a mall in Ramallah and walked around just like Muslims walk around freely in Israeli malls?

So now that we’ve established that there’s no genocide, no apartheid, no colonialism, and no ethnic cleansing, let’s debunk another one of the ridiculous accusations against Israel.

Israel steals American money by taking billions of foreign aid from the American taxpayer?

Wow, billions of dollars? That sounds like so much money…

And now let’s put that in perspective, shall we?

First of all, 92% of the U.S. Foreign Military Financing (FMF) provided to Israel must be spent in the United States on American products and services.

Did you catch that? 92% of the aid that goes to Israel is then put back into the American economy.

But that’s not even the best part.

Approximately 0.2% of the U.S. GDP is spent on foreign aid. That is about two-tenths of one percent.

In dollar terms, that’s roughly $60 billion to $70 billion per year in recent years, while U.S. GDP is about $30 trillion.

Ok, but how much of that $60 billion to $70 billion goes to Israel? Probably all of it, right?

You’re cute.

Well, if I was judging by the amount of pushback that aid to Israel gets, I’d assume it was 100% of it or close.

So I get where you’re coming from…

So get this. Out of the $60 billion to $70 billion in U.S. foreign aid, $3.3 billion went to Israel last year.

So Israel received about 5% to 6% of U.S. foreign aid.

So again, 0.2% of America’s GDP goes to foreign aid, and out of that, approximately 5% goes to Israel, and 92% of that aid is then poured back into the American economy.

Compare that to Ukraine, for example.

In fiscal year 2025, the United States disbursed approximately $6.7 billion in foreign assistance for Ukraine.

That’s about double the amount sent to Israel.

Remind me again how many bills were passed in Congress to try and stop funding to Ukraine?

Remind me how many organizations have tried to force America to stop sending foreign aid to any country besides Israel?

Now why would there be so much noise surrounding American foreign aid to Israel and absolutely zero noise about foreign aid to any other country?

“Yea, but AIPAC pays off politicians. That is a foreign government controlling U.S. politics!!”

Let’s start with the fact that AIPAC is an American lobby. Like any other American lobby, AIPAC lobbies to maintain the strong U.S.-Israel relationship.

“Yes, but they are so powerful and so big. No other lobby is that powerful!”

Is that so…?

If we’re comparing federal lobbying expenditures (the money organizations report spending to lobby Congress and the executive branch), AIPAC is nowhere near the top 10.

AIPAC reported about $3.3 million in federal lobbying expenditures in 2024 (the most recent finalized OpenSecrets figure), placing it around 191st among lobbying organizations.

Recent estimates put its annual lobbying in roughly the $3 million to $4.5 million range.

Let’s look at some lobbyists and how they compare to AIPAC, shall we?

* U.S. Chamber of Commerce: $72 million, which is approximately 22 times the size of AIPAC.

* National Association of Realtors: $54 million, 16 times AIPAC.

* PhRMA (pharmaceutical industry): $38.2 million, 12 times AIPAC.

* American Hospital Association: $30 million, 9 times AIPAC.

* Blue Cross Blue Shield Association: $29 million, 9 times AIPAC.

* American Medical Association: $27 million, 8 times AIPAC.

* Meta (lobbying for the company): $25 million, 7 times AIPAC.

* Amazon: $25 million, 7 times AIPAC.

Oh, and it’s not only those kinds of lobbies that are bigger than AIPAC.

There are many political ones, too.

Here are some examples:

* NRA

* EMILY's List

* Planned Parenthood

* League of Conservation Voters

* Club for Growth

* Americans for Prosperity

* American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO)

In other words, AIPAC is NOT run by a foreign government, nor is it the largest—or even close to the largest—lobby in America.

Listen, I can go on for hours debunking the lies being told about Israel, but by now, you should have gotten the point.

What’s the point?

Good question, thought you’d never ask.

The point is, you’ve been duped!

Israel is literally none of the things you’ve been told:

* Israel didn’t commit anything remotely resembling a genocide.

* Israel is the opposite of apartheid.

* Israel colonized no one and nothing.

* Israel ethnically cleansed no one. Jews, on the other hand, were ethnically cleansed by Arab states.

* American aid to Israel is not what you think it is.

* AIPAC is not even close to as big and powerful as people pretend it is.

So, the next time someone tells you some blood libel about the only Jewish state—a country smaller than New Jersey and the only free democracy in the Middle East—you might want to question it.

You really don’t have to invest too much time. Use your favorite AI agent and ask if what you were just told is true or false.

Unless, of course, you don’t care about the truth and you are more concerned with vilifying the Jews than you are about being accurate and trustworthy.

The truth is that Israel leads the world in cancer research and is first on the scene when there’s a natural disaster anywhere in the world, including in countries that are hostile towards Israel.

The truth is that Jews make up 0.2% of the global population and have been awarded over 20% of Nobel Prizes.

The truth is Israel wants peace. Peace is all Israel ever wanted.

The truth is Israel has proven time and time again that it’s willing to pay a very steep price to achieve peace.

The truth is that Israel leads the world in innovation across all sectors.

The truth is Israel is a breathtakingly beautiful country. No, literally—it’ll take your breath away.

The truth is that Israelis are some of the happiest people on earth.

The truth is that if you’ve spent the better part of your adult life trashing Israel and the Jews and you finally saw the light, Israel would welcome you with open arms to experience the modern-day miracle that is the State of Israel.

The truth is, if all that doesn’t convince you, then consider this:

Throughout generations, throughout history, endless empires—world-leading empires—came after the Jews.

Without exception, every single one of them went extinct.

They went extinct while this tiny little nation called the Jews is here, thriving, flourishing, and showing no signs of slowing down.

So if you don’t side with the Jews because of morality, side with the Jews because we are the winning team, and let’s be honest, no one likes to be a loser.

And to you people out there who hate the Jews no matter what, I have five words for you:
