Very happy to say, our paper on orbital forcing of Early Jurassic wildfires just got published in @CommsEarth!!
Check it out if you want to know more about hydrological changes and fire on a orbital timescale:

Huge thank you to all people involved!
@TSG_since1970 @kithardman @DurUniEarthSci Contgratulations Kit. The Ussher Soceity (https://t.co/ykYiP5NgtA) would like to invite you to speak at our annual meeting (online) on the work conducted in and around Tor Bay. The meeting takes place on the 6th/7th January 2022. I'd like to discuss more regards, Andrew Green
:: NEW PAPER THREAD ::
Check out our new paper on using different transforms and filters in semi-automated #lineament analysis. It is #OpenAccess for the next six months or available on @EarthArXiv

It was a very cold -4c this morning at the #UDDGP project site.
We will continue with the #geothermal well testing this month with the minimum number of people at the site, everyone else is #workingfromhome
Combining #MineralProcessing with lightning and #MachineLearning, this article shows that computers can determine breakage rate of rocks by the noises during processing, and this can be used to estimate size reduction.

A few of us from @CambSchMines will be presenting at @NXGENresources! I'll be giving a short talk about the
@MIREU_EU project and work in #Cornwall 🇪🇺 〓〓
Still time to register: https://t.co/d3nBLEq3IU
And, yes Ok we did blow something up with them as well –
At South Crofty Mine underneath #Camborne#CORNWALL ep1 is now up on @bbciplayer

🙌🏼🙌🏼 Great news coming out today! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Researchers at CSM led by @FrancesWallCSM will be leading a govt funded multi-disciplinary, multi-million £ project developing a new road map for a technology metals #circulareconomy centred on the UK! #mining#minerals#technology#lithium
We’ve been working hard finding how we can safely run field classes in line with Covid-19 guidelines, and we were delighted to get out last week with our 1st year geologists to Godrevy! Even though the weather and angry sea tried to scupper our plans, we all had a great time! 🤩
Here is a brilliant geology PhD project related to deep geothermal energy. Cornwall is the most prospective area in the UK and Eden Geothermal are drilling a 4.5 km deep well in 2021. You need to be enthusiastic about granite because you’re going to be seeing a lot of it 😉.
🚨PhD PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨- Interested in granite mineralogy/geochemistry, fracture/vein systems + development of deep geothermal energy? Great project here working with the Eden geothermal team. See: https://t.co/C1ymPY0Au5 (apply by 16.11.20). #granite#geothermal#cornwall

So what is it and what is it used for? Great question! Ochre (hydro ferric oxide) is an orangey type sludge, kind of like a clay, that can be found at our mine water treatment schemes 💧🔎 (2/4)
