Why pay tax on nominal gains when purchasing power is eroded by inflation? #NoTaxOnInflation
One of the world’s most eminent barrister’s said to me over lunch a few years ago ‘American healthcare is a $4 trillion scam yet most doctors don’t know this’
This is why….
@TDuffles@j_fishback Oh, you "wealthy out-of-stater"... You would have to pay his (proposed, for now) "Mamdani Tax". "A $50,000 property transaction tax on out-of-state buyers purchasing vacation homes in Florida".
@j_fishback It is hard to impossible to say what would happen.
What would help in these primaries would be to have ranked-choice voting. This would help pick the best candidate, despite this initial divisiveness. Food for thought...
I ranked 40 foods. 50k people saw it. The number one question: why this order?
Here is the framework. Every food was scored on five criteria.
1.NUTRIENT DENSITY. How many essential nutrients per 100 calories. Beef liver delivers 27. Eggs deliver 12. Breakfast cereal delivers 2. The most nutrient dense foods on earth are animal foods. That is not an opinion. That is the USDA’s own data.
2.GLYCEMIC LOAD. How hard does this food hit your insulin. The foods at the top of the list barely move the needle. Meat, fish, eggs, and fat have a glycemic load near zero. The foods the USDA tells you to eat as your foundation, bread, rice, cereal, have the highest glycemic load of any foods in existence. 93.4% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy. This is why.
3.BIOAVAILABILITY. It is not what you eat. It is what you absorb. The iron in beef liver is heme iron. Your body absorbs 25 to 35% of it. The iron in spinach is non-heme. You absorb 2 to 5%. On paper they both contain iron. In your body, one works and the other mostly doesn’t.
4.ANTINUTRIENT RISK. Some foods fight back. Oxalates in raw spinach bind to calcium and form kidney stones. Lectins in raw beans damage gut lining. Goitrogens in raw cruciferous vegetables suppress thyroid function. Every plant on my list is either naturally low in antinutrients or marked as cooked to reduce them. Dose and preparation matter.
5.ANCESTRAL EVIDENCE. Did humans eat this food for thousands of years or was it invented in a factory 50 years ago. Beef liver, sardines, eggs, bone broth, fermented foods. These are not trends. They are the original human diet. If your great-grandmother would not recognize it as food, it probably isn’t.
Tier 1 Powerhouse scores highest on all five. Beef liver is number one because nothing on earth beats 27 essential nutrients per 100 calories with near zero glycemic load and maximum bioavailability.
Tier 5 Smart Staples scores well on some criteria but not all. Dark chocolate has polyphenols but also sugar. Coconut oil has MCTs but limited micronutrients. They earn a spot. They don’t earn the top.
The tiers are not about what tastes best or what is trendy. They are a metabolic ranking. Which foods give your body the most while demanding the least from your insulin, your liver, and your gut.
@reason The (hoped for) benefit is an increase in financial education, which is severely lacking. We'll see how that goes.
(As for simplifying the tax code, we can only hope. Too many jobs and interests depend on keeping taxes as complex as possible.)
@newstart_2024 Like with most human traits there are many/fine degrees of it. E.g. with a horrific traffic accident you want neither the person overcome with emotion nor the one who keeps thinking "fried chicken' - you want the ones who are able to call 911 and lend help.
@TylerAStepke@Rebecca21951651@nikitabier (head of product @x) apparently does not like browser/web access and ad blockers. Many users got suspended (for "inauthentic behavior") as suspected bots. Gotta keep that ad revenue flowing...
@CynicalPublius Doubtful they even realize that truth.
For many (like these Euroleftists) rationalizing often turns to willful blindness and repressing. It is their brain's way to stay cohesive.
@newstart_2024 Too bad lactobacillus reuteri does not survive baking, even if it might be present in the starter/dough. And I doubt Dr. Li's recommendation is to eat raw dough.
@newstart_2024 I remember JP posting about having dinner in a fancy NYC restaurant at a time when covid vax certs were enforced there. He is not much better than his neighbors on that moral scale.

You compare it to nukes… threaten half of white-collar jobs… warn recursive self-improvement could end humanity… then race ahead anyway.
In other words, you want the government to save us from… you.
