NEWS: Tesla's head of Autopilot says FSD should not need a manual max speed setting. The car will learn how you like to drive instead.

The comment came from Ashok Elluswamy, the VP who leads Tesla's AI and self-driving work.

A user had asked Tesla to bring back max speed control, the setting that caps how fast FSD will go.

Ashok called that setting an anti pattern. In plain terms, a design that solves the wrong problem.

His view is that you should not have to feed the car a number. It should pick up on how you drive and match that.

He said the team is working on FSD learning each driver's implied preferences.

So over time the car would learn your comfort level and drive that way on its own.

We make these lists of things we want to do. His latest contributions were to walk on a beach at sunset and whisper sweet nothings in each other’s ear and to take more horseback rides. He likes reading, playing video games, and being with friends."

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen a Titanium Metallic Model X in person. Extremely rare color that was only produced for about a year and discontinued in late 2016. Nice brownish hue to it. This one is in great condition for a 10 year old vehicle.

Love this! ❤️ Safety is one of the biggest reasons I chose Tesla.
I’m still waiting for Tesla to send the backend Push OTA after my official Region Migration from China to Global. My car is still on the CN software, so FSD remains out of reach for now. Once the Global software arrives, I’ll finally be able to test whether FSD is available in Aruba 🇦🇼. Fingers crossed! 🤞⚡@Tesla
