No matter what anyone says or does, the improvement in our team play and ball control goes a long way back to Amorim. Even if things didn’t fully work out, we clearly saw the system he implemented.
Imagine Maguire now knowing how to hold the ball under pressure instead of rushing to just boot it away.
The one-twos you’re seeing Cunha Bruno Cunha Bruno and Dorgu Bruno Dorgu Bruno that’s all his work. I’ll always be grateful to him for that foundation.
This team only needs three or four more signings, and people will finally understand what a massive job Amorim did.
That said, Carrick has surprised everyone including me. I never thought he’d beat Manchester City and Arsenal back to back. That’s not something you do easily.
Kudos to him.
Does not add up . Man U , lying 6th, fire Amorim with no real plan but to eventually recall Michael Carrick
as interim. Suggests a behind scenes bust up or heat of moment decision to get rid of Amorim. Does not feel thought through.
BREAKING: Man Utd are set to appoint Michael Carrick as an interim manager.
He will then be replaced by Eric Djemba-Djemba on an interim basis, before David May takes the reins as caretaker ahead of the permanent appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Hey @ManUtd we understand everyone makes a mistake, but it’s not too late for you to make it right, Sack Jason Wilcox Now and bring back Amorim immediately and give him full control
Gary Neville you know he was talking about people above him listening to you.
He didn't care about what you said, Amorim wasn't that fragile, he just knew Jim Ratcliffe worships your opinion so what you say carries weight with him and the board.
It was NEVER the formation. The back 3 stuck 4 goals past Brighton.
It was always the quality of our players, the floor of the squad, the depth is NOT good enough - it was so OBVIOUS to anyone.
Sacking the manager, because he asked for some help, any help and telling him to change to a formation THAT IS NOT ANY MORE GUARENTEED to bring results was ridiculous.
Still regardless who the manager is the squad still needs investment. This squad will struggle to secure top 5 or european football this season.
I really really hope and pray the interim manager whoever it is, can galvanise us.. because right now its flatter than ever. Sensible fans are losing faith. I hope the 4231 works, I hope Mainoo steps up, I hope the players respond and try to salvage this season because right now its looking flat...
Amorim Outers are the only HAPPY "fans" right now and that says everything about the state of this club and its "fans".
Next up Man City, then Arsenal. A win against either could ignite the 2nd half of the season for us, need Amad and Bryan back and need to get to work on the training pitch.
Reasons why most of us believed Amorim’s system was going to work
•He made us play the most beautiful football we’ve seen since the Ferguson era.
•He made an average squad look like a proper, well coached team that actually knew what it was doing.
•We pressed teams aggressively and consistently dominating possession, shots, set pieces, and xG, something we hadn’t done in years.
•Big teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal were no longer beating us by 4-5+ goals.
•He took us to Anfield and won a place we hadn’t won at in over nine years.
•He had followed the club for years and understood that there was a deep rooted rot within it.
•He knew football is a results business, but he was brave enough to try fixing the core problems before chasing short term results.
•Player power was no longer an issue because of how disciplined and firm he was.
He removed the leaks from dressing room
Got rid of toxic players
He did the biggest clear out this summer 9 players
He got our team playing as a team.He was building a culture
He was trying to remove entitlement from top to bottom.
He faced a lot from pundits, journalists and X players (more than any united manager)
We chose instant success instead of serious rebuild.
We might get success in near future but it will not be sustainable without proper foundation
INEOS should be ashamed of themselves. They came and made @ManUtd even WORSE 🤬
They should all resign now. Glazers should just sell the club NOW

Amorim was sacked for standing up to the board, not for results.
If you are celebrating him being sacked, you need to think about that.
Good luck to the new manager (whoever that may be).
He’s got no chance with this toxic fanbase.
