#Dealing with Variations on a Construction Project.

Nobody normally calls you and says;
“Hey, we have a Variation for you.”

It usually starts with something small. “Use this revised drawing.”
“Please do this part differently.”
“We need to change specifications.”

Record the instructions. Measure the work while it is still visible. Raise the commercial issue early. Because months later, when people are trying to remember what happened, the person with proper records has a much stronger story to tell.
