My favorite part of being a Parasitologist will always be the drawing of these complex cestodes! 🖋️👀

Jesus' harshest words in the gospels were consistently aimed at religious leaders who focused on everyone's exterior behavior but never looked on the interior of their own hearts & the systems of hurt they perpetuated.

New species alert!: @NWU_WRG MSc @_Geraldine_7 described a new tapeworm from the Oman cownose ray named Eniochobothrium acostae in honour of our @NWU_WRG post doc Dr @AlineAngelinaA1 for her contributions to the systematics of parasitic platyhelminths. https://t.co/wiBvPIMZoA
My daughter named her new pet, Sir David Stickenborough, after her hero. She wrote to tell him this. Obviously he responded. Sir David is getting renamed, apparently, but my daughter’s fascination with nature has been reinforced. #NationalTreasure
I am comfortably installed and attending ICOPA from France. Very impressed by the excellent technical quality of the online system they use.

Great entertaining presentation by @NWU_WRG ex-post doc & current extraordinary senior lecturer Bjoern Schaeffner @ICOPAnhagen on the parasite diversity of sharks & rays of Iceland. Bjoern recently moved from Africa to Iceland and is already making his mark there!
2nd poster from the @NWU_WRG parasite team @ICOPAnhagen is a really interesting study on the blood parasites of endemic South African catsharks. Interesting these parasites did not clade with other fishy haemogregarines but rather with frog Dactylosoma! Nature always surprise!
How to recognize a worm parasitologist - the person who get REALLY excited about digging for worm eggs in 1 400 old viking toilets! Great talk by Plenary speaker of #ICOPA2022 Peter Nejum on Living with Parasites. @ICOPAnhagen
This is it! Boarded and ready for liftoff to #ICOPA2022 ! In the luggage hold - 10 posters by the talented @NWU_WRG parasitologist and 5 presentation in the cloud ready to download and present in Copenhagen. @anja_erasmus20
