UPDATE: Good evening, fellow Ugandans and especially teachers of Humanities.

Today, the National Executive Committee (NEC) and sub-regional coordinators held a meeting with the UPDATE: President. From this engagement, several key resolutions were made:

📍A tax waiver of 10% was granted, resulting in a 20% salary enhancement for this financial year.

📍Additional incentives will be extended to the teaching fraternity.

📍The remaining 25% salary increment will be included in the 2026/2027 financial year budget.

We were also informed that our former teachers' union continues to illegally withhold our subscription. We have been advised to pursue this matter urgently with the Ministry of Public Service.

In light of these developments, I hereby suspend the Industrial Action as we await the completion of internal processes. We will continue to update you on any new progress.
