Much excitement from the geri front in Metro Van! I was able to garner over 70 physicians in a 24h time frame to provide a letter of advocacy to our local governments; this has produced some traction for an MRI and expansion at our hospital. Accountability is key now. #CanMEDS

Daily dispense/Direct observed ingestion fee changes in BC.

Will pharmacies continue to find this service financially feasible?

Who will step in to help vulnerable patients with their meds if pharmacies don’t? Will pub-funded home heath providers be given 🏁?

Conventional history claims that Western medicine begins with Hippocrates and Galen. This is misleading.

The final westward pulse of the Indian diaspora, which later gave rise to Greek colonisation of western Anatolia and Greece, brought medical knowledge with it. Because this knowledge was transmitted rather than organically developed, it was not fully understood or systematised, and therefore remained less sophisticated than Ayurvedic medicine. Indian medicine remained ahead of Europe until the 18th century, when East India Company surgeons learned plastic surgery and rhinoplasty, specifically the repair of damaged noses, from Indian practitioners. As Camran Nezhat notes, Indian surgery had already achieved several of the world’s medical firsts.

The Atharva Veda describes eight subdivisions of medicine, including internal medicine, head and neck surgery, toxicology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. Even Egypt’s Smith Papyrus, conventionally dated to c. 1700 BC, but likely far older, far surpassed Hippocrates in anatomical and surgical understanding.

The Sushruta Samhita detailed plastic surgery, removal of prostate glands, crushing of bladder stones, eye surgery, amputations, and the proper training of surgeons. It was more detailed and roughly four times larger than the first-century De Medicina. The Charaka Samhita’s initiation oath was probably the model for the Hippocratic oath, with its emphasis on “first, do no harm,” mirroring core Ayurvedic principles.

Let’s be serious about hate. But let’s be clear on what is hate and what isn’t.

The Canadian Government must not enable the harm that has come in the past from using the term swastika in hateful means.

There is no such thing as “Nazi Swastika”

Hate = the Nazi Hakenkreuz.

🚨 URGENT: Save Our Sacred Swastika – Take Action Today!

Parliament’s new measures risk criminalizing the Swastika, a sacred symbol, central to Hindu, Buddhist & Jain homes, temples, and festivals.

✅ We support fighting hate.
❌ But these measures wrongly conflate Swastika with Hitler’s hateful Hakenkreuz (“hooked cross”).

There is no “Nazi swastika.” The Swastika is sacred; the Nazi emblem is the Hakenkreuz.

Hitler’s hateful, racist, dangerous Hakenkreuz must be banned.

With this ban, it’s a critical time 🇨🇦 to understand the distinction from the dharmic symbol: Swastika.

It means auspiciousness in Sanskrit; Yoga practitioners may know the Swastikasana, aka the auspiciousness pose.

@officialHinduCF @JusticeCanadaEN @SeanFraserMP Re: swastika
The Hakenkreuz is the term that all Canadian documentation on this matter should utilize, given documented exploitation by the Nazis of the Buddhist/Hindu swastika.

Even @Dictionarycom & @Wikipedia have yet to revise their pages on this vs the actual Swastika. #hate
