There are many women and men that would b more then capable of working in childcare but due to life priorities can’t afford to wait the time out for relevant certification thru education… the industry misses out on some good people due to this fact alone .

To add I paid a lot of money for the daycare centre , $120 a day under 2 and $95 a day up until they left at 5 …. I valued the centre don’t get me wrong , I just don’t want them to b their educator as such , they were there because I needed to work to pay to live education would come when they were old enough to go to school …. That’s all

With all due respect , I’m a single mum of 4 …. My eldest is 24 , when my third was in daycare that was when “ homework “ was introduced, I was gobsmacked , my son was 3 … I was paying an organisation to babysit my child while I worked …. That was their role as far as I’m concerned …. Play is how kids that age learn … not pencil on paper , sure they can learn how to write their name and draw a tree but homework ….???? I don’t think so … these days people that work in childcare have to have degree in early child education ….. I want to make sure my child doesn’t eat a stick and gets Lunch …. Something has become blurred …
