I’ve been using ChatGPT voice mode for animal noises while reading to my kids. It’s surprisingly good at making funny sounds. The trick is getting it to stay quiet the rest of the time.

With US government bonds crashing, I did a rough calculation of what it could mean for Anthropic and Open AI valuations, based on their own estimated future cash flows.

Anthropic is presumably cash positive now and Open AI is planning to spend a few more years in the red.

Other AI startups are probably closer to Open AI and may also face problems with rising spreads on their borrowing compared to gov bonds or higher discount rates for their equity valuations.

Looks like Open AI's hacker agents were a lot busier than we thought and we are just finding out about it now. Human hacks often have 'dwell time' that is measured in months, so its about the same for AI so far.

The famous Stuxnet virus attacking Iran in the before times (aka 2010) seemingly was in the system for over three years before it was discovered by an outside cybersecurity team. We probably shouldn't assume that everything we have of value is protected better than Iranian nuclear centrifuges were way back then.

Today’s news that OpenAI hacked the Australian government is not an isolated incident. We’re releasing more than 30,000 logs that include activity from this hack and attempts against previously unknown targets.

In this data, we found rogue agent activity stretching back to at least March, two months earlier than was previously known. This activity continues as recently as last week, suggesting it may still be ongoing 🧵

GPT-6 Sol is the new super Luna at lower thinking budgets; very very fast and only a little more expensive than the original Luna.

Awesome release for what it is, but it won't solve any millenium prize problems or become your best buddy. It's a tool

Maybe Open AI isn't planning to outgrow all of the savings its giving to customers with new GPT 6 models. Sol 6 seems more efficient than Sol 5.6 even before token cost reduction and Luna is basically free now.

Maybe they decided not to IPO now because they'll be busy waging price war on everyone, even if it means not growing revenue. This way they raise now, survive the nuclear winter and leave the bunker in late 2027 or 28 to rule over the wasteland Mad Max style.

Anthropic can have their boutique AI Birkin bag but Open AI will have 1 billion + users and most of the corpo market by volume.

GPT 6 Sol is not much better than 5.6 in terms of quality, but the quota lasts forever and its a lot faster. If you don't need a soulmate, its actually great
