Germany’s national football team advanced to the knockout stage of the World Cup after an impressive performance by Afghan-origin German player Nadiem Amiri.
Germany defeated Ivory Coast 2-1 early Sunday morning in their second World Cup match, securing their place in the next round.
Germany initially fell behind, but tactical changes in the second half helped the team turn the game around and claim victory.
Nadiem Amiri played an important role in the comeback and valuable win by providing an assist.
With this performance, Amiri has drawn attention as the first Afghan-origin player in Germany’s squad to provide an assist at the World Cup, and he is likely to be included in the starting lineup for the team’s next match.
