Creating anything remotely complex and cpu-intensive with vsts then routing audio for monitoring output to a modern, high quality interface via USB ... sucks (yes, even with buffers maxed out).
How does anyone get anything done with this setup ?
There are some pleasing aspects to it however, and it has provided some interesting lessons, so for the moment I'll leave it in place as a stepping-stone curiosity." Time to move on ... have a good weekend.

Apologies for the further interruption; #42 hasn't been an easy one to put to bed. If you paid for the first version, you now have three for the price of one (if you grabbed the second while it was available).
... doing so means reverting to previous working methods, setting up the potential for long periods of frustration, veers away from the pursuit of harmony which is more satisfying.

#42 has received a minor makeover; mostly subtle changes to mix levels, with some thinning carried out here & there to help with clarity.
If you have already purchased a copy (thank you), you should be able to download the update free of charge.
The art and craft of EQ was an unknown entity for me 30 years ago. Everything was hardware-based, and kit of even half-decent quality, that would allow for meaningful sculpting of a channel's frequencies, was fearsomely expensive.
These tools provide practically limitless possibilities, the means of almost infinite refinement.
They are the sonic equivalent of sculpting with a set of very fine chisels in place of an old, blunt chainsaw.
Fun times ...
