The Battleship Mountain wildfire is consistently experiencing rapid growth and is still displaying extremely vigorous fire behaviour. The fire has been propelled approx 8 km today by westerly winds and dry conditions.

Over the last 48 hours, the Battleship Mountain #BCwildfire (G72150) has displayed extremely aggressive fire behaviour and is ~17,410 hectares in size. The extremely dry and windy conditions have driven fire behaviour to exhibit consistent Rank 5 with pockets of Rank 6.

Fires within the Dawson Creek zone are experiencing extreme fire behaviour due to high winds combined with hot and dry conditions. The #BCWildfire Service’s top priorities are human life and safety. Expansions to Evacuation Alerts & Orders as well as Area Restrictions are likely.
