In the early 1970s, while many looked away, this Italian artist picked up her brush and lent her talent to the Palestinian struggle. Working with the General Union of Palestinian Students (GUPS) in Italy, Elisabetta Carboni Montaldo created powerful political posters that amplified the voice of a people fighting for liberation.

Her works — bold, unapologetic, and deeply committed — spoke of occupied Palestine, steadfast resistance, and internationalist solidarity. Titles like Palestina Libera and Half Century of Struggle (1971) became visual weapons in the battle against erasure.

From the streets of Italy to the global movement, Carboni understood that art is not neutral. In the tradition of Italian antifascist resistance, she turned her creativity into an act of solidarity with the Palestinian revolution — linking the struggle of one people to the liberation of all.

Her posters didn’t romanticize. They affirmed the right of a colonized people to resist, to exist, and to return. In times of genocide and silencing, we remember artists like Elisabetta Carboni Montaldo — those who refused to stay silent, who used their hands to draw the line between justice and oppression.

sekitar 4 tahun lalu i dtg ke balaipustaka niatnya cari 1 novela steinbeck yang diterjemahkan chairil (i perna cari di perpusnas tp ga ada ckck).

di sana i ketemu 1 komik hang tuah yg bikin i kepikiran soal alihwahana sastra² klasik indo ke medium komik bareng @rotasibooks
