@MustafaRaw_ @ma1ybe Yes, gender roles are learned. The patriarchal idea of gender hurts men as well. Differently and arguably not as much, but men are also affected. That‘s why it‘s so important to be intersectional, foster a positive community with one another.

You don‘t need to "speak" on politics to be political. "Politicality" is a byproduct of being-alongside-others. Being social means being political. This is such a common misconception people seem to have, and the biases we bring to the word "politics" play a big role I think.

@a_strider_again @Cutvin @mattxiv This says nothing about science though? Also fairness is just a social concept. It has changed throughout history, is different in different cultures and so on. So why are you so sure we have reached the definitive, perfect version of fairness in sports?

The fairness discussion requires way more nuance, so I neither say that, nor the opposite. I think the concept of fairness in sports has to be reexamined once more (that happens all the time anyways). Just this time it‘s a bit more foundational.

So far it looks like you just made up an absurd point on your own, then identified that point as absurd and concluded that their actual arguments are somehow helping the right wing because of that.

The left doesn‘t exactly campaign to "put trans women into women’s sports", however there are campaigns to push trans women out of them. We‘d like to focus on different things, but we also can‘t just sacrifice trans people for it.

The reality is that the latter already implies the former.

@WaveyMort @mattxiv Why does she have a problem with campaigning for trans kids? Conservatives also run whole campaigns on "safe the children" stuff. Why is it a problem when these kids are trans? She didn‘t have a problem with Trump wanting to "protect cis kids from trans ideology".

"I want to see trans kids" != "I don‘t want to see any other kids" This is about creating a society where trans kids can publicly exist without fear. Cis kids are already an established group, so don‘t have to be explicitly mentioned.
