@JeremyBuxton Glad to see that you are enjoying the delights of the North East & hope the sun shines on you. If you get the chance, pop along the Military Road and visit the Sill Centre. It contains a lot of interesting exhibits and has a cafe serving tasty food ๐.
@gillyhope1@bbcnewcastle I left school in 1975 and to "celebrate" I walked 270 miles along the Pennine Way, from Edale to Kirk Yetholm, with two mates.
@JeremyBuxton Oh dear. I hope that you are feeling okay and recover quickly. It is still around, being under reported; many people are not taking precautions.
@northernassist@njvphotographee I wholeheartedly agree. The scenery is breathtaking and there is so much to see in Settle and the other villages along the line.
@JenBartram The words of Diana Ross' song "Thank you" fully expressed the debt of gratitude the Country & Commonwealth owes the Queen for 70 years of service.
@LNER @sjbirkett It is always a delight to travel by train, along the Northumberland Coast to enjoy the stunning scenery & views. Here is a photo I took a couple of weeks ago, crossing the Border Bridge, when travelling from Berwick to Newcastle on an LNER train.
@alfiejoey @Durham_2025 @iredalepolitics@ClareFrisby@lottyleeming Congratulations to Bradford as UK City of Culture for 2025 ๐๐ - let's hope that Durham can still deliver the cultural initiatives identified in it's bid.
@maireadtsmyth V interesting feature on energy generation in Isle of Man, some breathtaking aerial shots of coastline. Onshore windfarms are a potential source of renewable energy, but will be v controversial & need 2b carefully located 2 avoid environmentally sensitive locations

@northernassist Travelling along the East Coast mainline on the southern approaches to Berwick upon Tweed. A delightful journey with some breathtaking views.
@iredalepolitics@RachaelMaskell On shore windfarms are cheaper to install & operate than off shore windfarms. Scottish Govt proposes 30 percent of its future renewable energy should come from this source: they should be encouraged in England, in appropriate locations. The current ban on them should be scrapped!

@HedleyMarie@Claire_Pickard The previous organisers have moved on and the new ones did not realise how many consents were required before the event could go ahead. They failed to get them in place for it to proceed this year but have given an undertaking to do so in time for Easter 2023.
@KellyScottRadio@bbcnewcastle@Claire_Pickard@frlydensmith On each Good Friday for the past 50 yrs churches in Sunderland have held a service on Tunstall Hill to remember & re-enact the Passion of Jesus, attended by 500+ people. Sadly it can't go ahead due 2 Covid restrictions
