I left Cuba. The stories came with me.
I write novels about faith, family, and freedom: the kind that has to be claimed, then kept.
If you're new here, Alejandro's Journey is where the crossing begins. The other books wait when you're ready.

Sunday mornings in a lot of Cuban homes start the same way: the cafetera on the stove, the smell filling the house before anyone is fully awake. Small cups, strong, shared. It was never really about the coffee. Who made the first cafecito in your house?
@giovanni_axibal In many Cuban homes, the answer is whatever abuela made "a ojo", by eye, with no measurements at all. The only way to learn it was to stand next to her in the kitchen. Those are the recipes worth writing down while we still can.
If you could sit across the table from one person in history and ask a single question, who would it be?
Echoes Across Time, one of my novels, goes there by way of lucid dreaming.
My answer: B.F. Skinner. Is freedom real, or just conditioning? Yours?

@CitizenScreen Fifty-two years later, "Quimbara" can still get a whole Miami kitchen dancing. Celia had a way of making joy sound like a decision. ¡Azúcar!
@SleeperYankees Hard to argue with '56 Mantle. A Triple Crown, 52 homers, and he did it on legs that hurt him most of his career. As a lifelong Yankees fan, I'd just want a seat for one of those swings.
@fuzzymiffy Parents who start over with nothing so their children can have everything are the quiet heroes of so many families. As a Cuban exile, I know that story well. God bless them.
@BlogFrancie Congratulations on the sold-out play! I built a long career in telecommunications before finding my love for writing, so I love seeing a dream wait patiently and then show up.
@KristinaKing121 So true. The brain reads what we meant, not what's on the page. Time away and reading it out loud seem to be the most honest editors. How long do you usually wait?
@KANelson_Actual Glad it helped! Those page reads add up, and KU readers are often willing to try an author they've never heard of. Wishing you lots of pages read.
Kindle Unlimited is Amazon's reading subscription: one monthly fee, and you can read as many books from its library as you like. All four of my novels are in it, so if you already have it, they're free to read. And the author still gets paid for every page you read.
Thomas Edison died 95 years ago today, on Oct 18, 1931, with 1,093 U.S. patents to his name. If you could thank one inventor for something you use every single day, who would it be? #ThomasEdison#OnThisDay#History#Inventions
@greythinkeruk Humbling is the right word, and a gift. After a long career in telecommunications, I started writing novels. Being a beginner again keeps the mind young and the pride in check.
@WritingQuest My first novel started with Hemingway's advice: write one true sentence, then the next. Six months later I had a first draft. The messy thinking happened right there on the page.
@BuenaVistaSC Compay's voice sounds like a porch in Oriente at sundown. Chan Chan has a way of carrying a whole island in four chords. Gracias for keeping this music alive.
@kingslife4u2c What a Saturday: a wedding venue in the morning and the Canes under the lights tonight. Hope the venue is the one, and that the rain holds off at Hard Rock. Go Canes!
@sherryr0601 Twenty-three years later and that swing still feels like yesterday. Lifelong Yankees fan here, and few October moments have aged better than Boone in the 11th.
After a long career in telecommunications, I started writing novels. What did you start once you thought the working years were done? #SecondAct#WritingCommunity#Retirement
