We are about to plant another 30,000 trees - all in edges, hedges and cattle grazed landscapes
The number of trees you can get in to a traditionally farmed landscape is unreal
It’s not that hard if you want to, and use the non profitable bits of land and design it intelligently
Why do I post about EV bargains and do I work for AutoTrader?
I am asked these questions sometimes, but I don't work for AutoTrader and I don't work in any part of the car industry.
I do this because ICE cars have had 120 years of maturity and appreciation, yet EVs have not even a decade and a half to bed in, yet they receive so much bad press.
I love cars, I've owned many and I love electric cars, too. In fact, they're so good now, I don't need to return to an ICE car.
The charging infrastructure is improving seemingly exponentially, vehicle range is only rising, charging speeds are only falling, so I feel that EVs should get a fair chance.
It's this reason why I want to spread awareness about affordability, available choice, the various price points and engage with people, some who want to find out more, but can't access answers to their questions elsewhere.
This great EV community on X helps ease people's fears and tackles the misinformation.
The stories from some anti-EV publications engage with their readers, some of whom take their word for granted.
The stories can be so wild and extreme and often aren't based on actual use cases but they do offer a demonstrable lack of understanding.
Some people will argue point-for-point why EVs are bad and why they will never take off.
I read fear in-between their lines as they remonstrate passionately, they see their world-order challenged.
Others don't like to have change imposed upon them, either.
Its a mindset shift and this is the hardest point to get across, ultimately we're not moving away from cars; cars aren't changing much in shape, design, space, speed, features and functionality.
It's still a car and in essence, the only change that is being imposed on people is the type of fuel they run on.
So, I will continue in a vein effort to promote EVs with positivity here on X, showing people that access to them is becoming more affordable.
I love cars, and I don't like to see EVs receive so much unjust negativity when they are getting so good now.
Below are 2 pictures.
The first is the cost to run a diesel vehicle, averaging 50mpg, (above UK average) over 150,000 miles. This is taken from the linked website below.
The second is our annual charging cost (home and public) taken from Quickbooks. This is to run 3 electric vehicles over 50,000 miles each, totaling the 150k of the diesel car above.
In short, we could run 6 EV's for less than the cost of one diesel.
I probably shouldn't add the maintanace saving 😳

@RevRichardColes Not separate but equally intriguing to me. The post office hit squad must have known that the sudden rise in discrepancies couldn’t all have been due to dishonesty. Were they on a financial incentive to get prosecutions?

@EnglishHeritage I've tried several times via your website (no reply) & phone (customer service constantly on hold) to ask for a replacement card. How can I get a response?
@timspector I’ve just finished reading your books, tried to visit British Gut website. It’s down and showing errors with gravity forms plugin, try deactivating that plugin.

@shaunwkeaveny I caught the end of the conversation about Bob Dylan books. I'm reading Chronicles as recommended by Guy Garvey, it's a banger! Was this mentioned today? What are people recommending?
