@joeldrapper Your suggestion is it’s own code smell that breaks the Law of Demeter. 🤷‍♂️ Everything is a game of trade offs, right? I think enums are great but can definitely be abused, much like everything ActiveRecord gives us.

@noelrap I’ve always called them parameters but when Ruby 2 introduced keyword arguments I started using arguments specifically for that use case (including hash parameters with double splat) overall I don’t think it’s super important, just a pattern I subconsciously follow.
