I'm so hyped as we get closer & closer to the Christmas Day release of Ruby 3.2. Actually, there are so many great things in 3.2 that we couldn't wait for release day, but already deployed it for all Shopify storefront requests.

@joeldrapper Your suggestion is it’s own code smell that breaks the Law of Demeter. 🤷♂️ Everything is a game of trade offs, right? I think enums are great but can definitely be abused, much like everything ActiveRecord gives us.
@rose_w I also really appreciate the leveling guides. I can now focus on whether the candidate will be successful. This was something that muddled interviews in the past, resulting in passing on great candidates because a growth opportunity was marked as a red flag.

@noelrap I’ve always called them parameters but when Ruby 2 introduced keyword arguments I started using arguments specifically for that use case (including hash parameters with double splat) overall I don’t think it’s super important, just a pattern I subconsciously follow.
2021 was our biggest Black Friday Cyber Monday ever! Together with our friends at @GoogleCloud we achieved near-perfect uptime while averaging ~30TB/min of egress traffic across our infrastructure. That’s a massive ~43PB/day!
