Super Shanghai Dragon's Eye (AC) is the only PCB that HOT-B designed in-house.
It was the last AC game for HOT-B USA. However, HOT-B JP continued to release AC games (PCB: Taito L System).
The reason why they designed their own PCB is still a mystery.

It was expected that adopting self-designed boards would be more profitable.
However, as the company's financial situation worsened and it was no longer able to employ its own PCBs, Taito's system was used again in later titles.

@promptnews Thanks for the info.
The GBA version of Steel Emprire was developed by StarFish.
StarFish is a company founded by the same CEO after HOT-B went bankrupt.
We have spoken with StarFish, but have not heard them say that they developed the game with Jaleco.
In 1992, HOT-B released the video game software "Steel Empire" for the Sega Genesis.
However, a search of the trademark DB in JP shows that Jeleco filed a trademark application in 2000.
We are trying to find out why Jaleco filed for the trademark.

@mistydemeo@gdri Also, the 511 section of the trademark application is very bullshit.
We do not know at this time if "Steel Empire" refers to a Korean game. However, it doesn't look like they were developing games either.
@mistydemeo@gdri Thank you for the valuable information." 강철제국" is the same name as the Steel Empire.
By the way, it seems that Jaleco also filed another trademark on the same day.
Temple Master, Royal Knights and Imperial Knights.
These words do not appear in HOT-B's Steel Empire.
