💎The Birth of Diamond Hooves: A Must Read If You Plan to Mint a Stable on December 11th. 🎁👇

🆘Two years ago (2022), a group of community members and artists reached out to me (@SPEECHMOOR ) to help turn their project around after their former founder rugged his community. You might know that project as Filthy Rich Horses (FRH).

📑At that time, I was running the Great Ape Debate, newly married, in the first year of my Applied Microeconomics PhD, and had very little time to commit. But, I also had aspirations of creating my own web3 business and thought this was an incredible opportunity to build something special within this Cardano community. I pitched my vision of a circular economy powered by track-and-field races with a deflationary token at the heart of the ecosystem—an ecosystem that would speak to various types of investors, gamers, passive players, and collectors—and shortly after, I joined the team as the project lead.

🫂A few months later, @VincentRijken86 joined the team as a moderator. His oldest child was a bit older than one, he was preparing for another child on the way, but he still showed up every single day to help turn this project around. It wasn’t long before we offered him a founder role, and in just a matter of months, we leveraged every connection we had to take FRH from 8 ADA to almost 200 ADA. We even landed a deal with the Ape Society's incubator, The Factory, and everything seemed like it was on the right track (pun intended).

🥊But behind the scenes, the team was divided. We had two schools of thought: some wanted to keep doing things exactly as they were, while I and a few others wanted to move forward with a new vision. We wanted innovation and a new brand, while some of the team wanted to continue in the old direction. We knew we needed to pivot the art in a different direction with a new collection of horses that personified athletes and allowed us to expand into an IP and entertainment brand.

⏸️We compromised on new 3D stables and opened up our stable mint 09/14/2023. We managed to mint 2,000 stables during the 2023 bear cycle, and while we didn’t sell out, the first phase of the stable mint allowed us to bring on an additional artist. Ultimately, we parted ways with team members who did not align with this new vision.

🤝At this point, our team solely consisted of Vince, Arpo, and I. We stayed up day and night for months, working toward creating and finalizing our new collection, Diamond Hooves 💎, and on 02/29/2024, we sold out our genesis horses. 3⃣Just three ragtag bandits, never-say-diers, and a community that never stopped supporting us (we f*cking love you guys). We persevered, overcoming obstacle after obstacle, bear cycle after bear cycle, completing milestone after milestone.

🏆It wasn’t an inflated roster of founders, incubators, influencers, or KOLs. It was just Vince, Arpo, and I. We’ve invested every penny from the first phase of the stable mint, and even our own money, back into this project. We built a new website, hired developers, enabled staking, created new art, attended several conferences, introduced Diamond Paper 2.0, created new stables with expanded utility, landed 20+ strategic partnerships, expanded the team with a critically acclaimed game producer, a sound designer, artists, moderators, a partnerships manager, and even connected with an incredible game development team that is about to complete the first draft of our races. To top it all off, we’ve worked this entire time for FREE 👼
