How to build a trading agent to manage a Growth vs. Value ETF rotation strategy?
Just describe your strategy:
First, pull 120 days of daily candle data for $IWF (iShares Russell 1000 Growth) and $IWD (iShares Russell 1000 Value), then compute a momentum ratio between the two: track which factor has been outperforming over the trailing window.
From that ratio series, calculate a z-score to determine whether the current Growth/Value spread is statistically significant enough to act on. If the signal is neutral, do nothing.
Then, fetch my live portfolio: current positions, cash balance, and net worth. Figure out exactly how much of each ETF I should hold given the signal. Target a 99% allocation (keeping a 1% cash buffer) and only rebalance if the drift from target is large enough to justify trading costs.
