What is 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠?
Can you define pacing?
It may mean different things to different people. We discussed it in my recent chat on Long COVID with @DeepakRavindra5 👇
1/2 So another massive milestone reached today in my #rehabilitation After coming off high dose #opioids 4 yrs ago I recently requested a reassessment of my Disability Living Allowance that I’d been awarded indefinitely! Today I got their reply 👇
I was delighted to join The Healing Pain Podcast and speak with @DrJoeTatta on 'Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Chronic Pain'.

@soapachu I became an advocate for people living with chronic pain (and opioid withdrawal) met an amazing tribe of human beings doing the same & am now helping organise an online Pain Management Festival @FestivalPain & involved with @FlippinPain & many exciting & important things. Happy!
@optimiseTFSP Thanks a mil for sharing @optimiseTFSP . Delighted you found it useful.
And YES - proactive exercise & dietary strategies are so important for women. We're hopefully going to live a whole third of our lives AFTER the menopause, after all!
@IEngageApp @sciatica_uk It’s a box. Sometimes the pain nails you in, or you nail yourself in, or others do. It’s dark, cold & constraining. It’s suffering & loss. But if YOU can pry the nails out & climb out, the box becomes something to stand on, to use, to learn from; a place to put your treasures in.
Wishing everyone a happy Sunday. This is a tricky time for us all, and I am sending you my wishes as we emerge from a challenging and surreal time. We truly are living through a very difficult phase in our lives so please commend yourselves for being tenacious and resilient.
@LivingWellPain@paintoolkit2 Yeah @LivingWellPain I was thinking of you when I wrote this tweet. As I mentioned to you I've also come across many patients who reject and very much dislike the term "disabled" - very interesting to hear the different opinions!
Good question here by @paintoolkit2 .
Another one:
If you have physical and or mental challenges that impact your ability to do things, how do you feel about the word "disabled"?
Do you like the word "disabled"?
Evidence-Based Medicine and how we do it (or not) in the clinic. Inspired by @Cause_Health @WordsClinical
We discuss @trishgreenhalgh 's 2014 paper on the "crisis" in EBM, and how/whether contemporary EBM differs from Cause Health's approach in practice

Would usually have edited out the first bit of this vid, but I just loved @DeepakRavindra5's joy at having his book published by @PenguinUKBooks, and his memories of seeing the penguin logo on his grandfather's PG Wodehouse books 🐧🥰

If you are a late adopter or you just didn’t see it. I highly recommend you buy this book. “Sciatica” an enjoyable easy to ready jaunty journey through the history, understanding and beauty of neuro anatomy that compromises all things sciatica.

"If my grandfather had been here, he would have been chuffed beyond delight" 🥰
