Science journalist. Author of four books. Contributor to @nytimes @guardian @wapo @theatlantic. And oh yeah, I have a secret identity as the 60-Second Novelist!
@BillAppledorf Hi Bill. I'm a science reporter. While researching a book about bogus diets and herbal remedies, I learned about Howard Appledorf, known as the "junk food professor" because he argued that fast food could be healthy. I'm hoping to speak. I'm at [email protected]. Thank you.
@CateCahan gave me this mug 39 years ago at a going-away party, when I quit my job to write 60-second novels on the streets of New York. The sayings on the mug are mostly faded now, but I'm still writing away. Thank you, Cate, for the perfect gift to a crazy dreamer.
You are invited! Forty years ago today, I set up on a street corner with my Royal typewriter to write 60-Second Novels. This Thurs & Fri, April 27 & 28, I'll celebrate by returning to the sidewalk in front of the NY Public Library from 12 to 4 pm. Will you be my 40,000th story?
@perkkocet@appltrack@markgurman Yes, I was diagnosed with type 1 in 1975. I'm on the verge of 50 yrs with this stupid disease, now with a pump and CGM. Apple watch could be useful for some. But what we really need is a pump that uses AI to analyze the CGM, instead of us having to figure it out.
Did you know I have a secret identity as the 60-Second Novelist? Since 1983, on street corners and at private parties, I have interviewed and typed the "life story" of 50,000+ (including Bloomberg & Schumer!) on my antique typewriter. Please follow on Instagram @60secondnovelist
@helaineolen Hi HelpLine. Check out my story on #anxiety just published in Newsweek. I think it answers some of your questions...

@Isikoff@Conspiracyland@Isikoff, you're only three and a half years behind me. Serious scientists have never bought the assertions of State Department officials regarding the existence of mysterious invisible weapons.

@gary_weiss Are you the source for the state.ent in today's review of your book on the Times: "Carroll, the face and tireless voice of Crazy Eddie’s TV ads, died in 2020, unheralded." I have searched and can find no obituaryorother notice of his death.
@AlexandraJacobs, what is your source for your assertion in today's @nytimes: "Carroll, the face and tireless voice of Crazy Eddie’s TV ads, died in 2020, unheralded." I have searched and can find no mention of his passing.
@SamAntar, if Jerry Carroll really is still alive, someone should let him know that the @nytimes thinks he's dead. Article today says: "Carroll, the face and tireless voice of Crazy Eddie’s TV ads, died in 2020, unheralded."
