Turns out the crash in that last video wasn't really a crash, it was just running checks on 28,000+ tiles all at once, when at most 200 tiles even exist. Thank God(ot) for the profiler, it made troubleshooting this one a breeze

Enemies will now path to the nearest building when none are in range!
The game is teetering on the edge of having "gameplay", tbh it's a bit scary to think about

@RhythmOrbits I'm thinking of running the pathfinding (to the nearest building) a second time, but with 2x/3x/etc range, and dropping any tiles outside the max move range for that turn.
That way it's technically thinking ahead and moving to the nearest building, even if it can't shoot one
Finally got enemy turns working!
(mostly at least. Next up, I'll need to give them something to do when there's no target in their threatened area)
#devlog#Godot#gamedev#indiedev
I'm still hammering out issues with enemy AI, but I added threat ranges too! Pretty sure it's actually picking the best moves now as well
#devlog#Godot#gamedev#indiedev
I'm super close to having a working version of enemy AI! The movement animations are still a little broken, but all the actions below are fully automated!
Don't forget to wishlist on Steam <3

I got the first version of enemy turns working! In the clip, the 2-4 isolated dots show the 2 "best" combinations of moving + shooting. ie: the ones that hit the most building tiles, always hitting a player unit if one is in range.

I updated the capsule art to reflect the new name, plus posted a quick summary of recent progress to the steam page. Check it out below!

@Jakest_JakeYT Thank you! I'm probably not going to need music for a while (months?), but I'll check in when things are a little more functional in the game
I crocheted this Kirby for a friend's birthday!
I think this is the first amigurumi I've done without a pre-written pattern? He's about 90% orb though, so pretty darn easy to freehand. #crochet#amigurumi
I slapped some new shaders on the attack targeting highlight. I'll probably keep fiddling with the colours for the next eternity or two, but the overall effect is looking pretty good now!
