Thoroughly enjoyed #Jailer2! The first half was terrific, with Anirudh’s mind-blowing BGM. Rajini is on fire throughout and the mass scenes give you that high every time! One cameo stood out, Lalettan’s could’ve been better. Nelson knows how to celebrate Rajini. Bring on #Jailer3
#Eyes is a really good watch. Excellent writing, impressive technical work and superb performances throughout. Easily one of the best Malayalam series I’ve watched in recent times.
#PradhamaDrishtiyaKuttakkar is a superb movie.Keeps you hooked after the initial 10 mins And never Loses its flow .Commendable performances by the lead actors and crisp editing and tight screenplay makes this a winner!!! 🙌🙌🙌
#ImGame — A disappointing watch that simply doesn’t deliver. DQ’s terrific 30 mins before interval is the lone high. The rest is clichés, cringe dialogues, a soggy flashback and a template climax. Mysskin as the roaring villain is a total miscast.DQ and the Dop r d nly positives.
#Thudakkam is a solid theatrical watch! A simple story, elevated by Jude into a thrilling ride. Vismaya Mohanlal impresses, especially in the action sequences. Ashish is menacing. Lalettan’s cameo felt a bit forced, but Jakes’ score is 🔥. Technically, a strong film. Go for it!
#INobody is a technically brilliant thriller. #NissamBasheer shines wit a gripping 1st hlf , stylish making & mind-blowing action. @PrithviOfficial is terrific, while @jakesbejoy’s music tkes it 2 another level. 2nd half is predictable with a loose climax, but a solid watch! 👏
The main reason Patriot flopped is Mohanlal's character's death. But its not just because Mohanlal fans cannot accept Mohanlal dying in a film. The film would have been flopped if Mohanlal and Mammootty were swapped and if Mammootty died that way too. This is because the makers introduced a character, it is played by such a beloved actor and before you got anything fully satisfying as a viewer, the makers took away the character from you too soon. You feel dejected that the makers did it to you.
Like Mohanlal said in Baradwaj Rangan interview, in films like Thanmathra and Thalavattam too, Mohanlal's characters die but there the viewers got a full 2+ hours on the character, got time to connect and spend time with the character and then those deaths were fine closures. In Patriot that's not the case.
*Spoilers ahead - Read ahead only if you have watched Drishyam 3*
There are issues plenty in Drishyam 3. The way story unfold one after another so suddenly in the last 20 minutes may not be the path how you wanted the film to go. The editing in this portion is so jarring. Jeethu Joseph's making in this segment leaves lot to be desired. He fails in preserving the character arc of certain characters and that keeps you further detatched from the film. But amidst all these, one thing that Jeethu Joseph does well is he lets Georgekutty evolve slowly and organically preserving the essence of how its one of Malayalam Cinema's most beloved characters.
And Mohanlal makes phenomenal use of this fact. He keeps telling in all interviews that Georgekutty is one character in his career whom he has not understood completely. And that ladies and gentlemen is a lie!
In the previous installments, he has embodied Georgekutty in a way you never knew what his next action was. He was always in control. He always had a plan. You just had to wait to know what it was because Mohanlal's performance beautifully hides it. In Drishyam 2, you know everything about Georgekutty through a second person while Georgekutty directly is not in front of us most of the time. In Drishyam 3, it is time for Mohanlal to bring Georgekutty's emotions to full display.
Full marks to Mohanlal in how he doesn't deviate his acting method from the image of Georgekutty that is built in the hearts of viewers across 13 years. From when Georgekutty was in control in first 30 minutes to later when he starts to get scared and shattered, Mohanlal's body language change is so nuanced that it is a beautiful sight to behold.
A brilliantly enacted sequence and the film's best scene because of Mohanlal is the one where they switch between marriage proceedings and court showing us closely the struggling emotions Georgekutty goes through. Finally at the end, after you are overwhelmed by the sudden story shifts, you get a very short moment to relieve Georgekutty's emotions . Georgekutty wants to remain in control once again but as you see tears coming down his eyes, you know Mohanlal has done a fabulous job in ensuring Georgekutty would remain among the top five iconic characters in Malayalam Cinema.
Despite the polarizing reviews, Drishyam 3 seems to be working strong at boxoffice. And that is signs that Drishyam 4 may happen. Jeethu Joseph may falter again. But we know one person wouldnt.
“If u r looking 4 one more iteration of Georgekutti fooling the police, the chances of you feeling disappointed are high. But if u r interested in knowing d psyche of a man who has a criminal mind and a family to protect, there is enough juice in this content” This ❤️ #Drishyam3
Lalettan’s performance here is just out of the world! It’s the so called Lalettan cheythathu kondu simple aayi poya character..but trust me, all the turmoil, tension and chaos he feels he makes us feels 2 .Best performance from Lalettan in the series #Drishyam3#Lalettan#Mohanlal
#Drishyam3 is a great watch and good scripting and awesome
Performances and Bgm makes it a great watch!! Lalettan delivers a monumental performance and his performance in D3 is the best in Drishaym series!!! as long as movie Drishyam > Drishyam 3 > Drishyam 2
#Patriot works for me for the most part, except the final 20–25 mins which feel stretched and dilute some emotional moments at the end. Still, a solid production with a brilliant Mammookka and terrific Lalettan. Excellent making by Mahesh Narayanan! Worth a theatre watch!
#SarvamMaya is a beautiful
Little film with a splendid @NivinOfficial and a refreshing herioine in Riya….a subject which could well have gone out of hand handled well by Akhil.Supporting cast also does a good job. It’s a Winner!! ❤️
