We were excited to be part of the incredible GHCI summit. @hena1220 hosted an engaging classroom session with 100+ attendees on practical strategies towards financial independence. We talked peace of mind funds, SIPs, negotiating salaries, adequate health insurance and more!
As the world of finance continues to evolve, the conversation around financial independence for women has never been more important. In today’s keynote session, Hena Mehta, Co-founder of @getbasis, took the stage to share practical, actionable strategies designed specifically for women navigating the challenges of today’s economic landscape.
With a focus on empowerment, Hena delved into the key tools and strategies women need to achieve financial freedom, from understanding investments to building long-term financial security. We're all about money driving happiness, but credit should build your future, not bail you out of FOMO.
How about some smart budgeting and saving tips to finance your fun? #Adulting
More and more women are talking about money, investing, financial planning, buying property. This is very encouraging. Real freedom comes from financial literacy and managing your money and women are finally getting it. 👩🌾💰

the rise of the independent indian woman is everywhere and it’s not a surprise anymore but still warms my heart to see more and more solo female travelers on flights every passing year
Sundays are for coffee, conversation, and…money talk! 💸 The Basis Collective got together to chat about the big stuff— inflation, investments, insurance, and even inheritance. Peer learning never felt so empowering (or fun)! Want in? DM us to join the next session!
I dont get it. Why do these people have takes like this? Responsible personal credit is an important thing to have access to. Helps you manage your cash flow and lets you turn your money into happiness at a point of live when it sparks the most joy. At the very least these people are not hoarding and gardening their money. Which is almost always corrosive to the soul.
Being financially independent is one of the best things you can do for yourself as a woman. Not having to rely on a man or your parents to do things for you is apart of true freedom. I wish that for all women💕💕.
The pink tax is real. A subtle, but pervasive form of gender based price discrimination. Here’s what you need to know about it:

Being a woman is so expensive.
- period hygiene products cost around Rs. 150 a month(average)
- a good bra costs around Rs. 400-500,and you need a good supportive bra to workout/run/sports which costs anywhere around Rs. 800-1500.
-On an average women pay 7% more on similar products to men, but it can be much much more. Specifically, women get charged on average: 50% more on income protection, 29% more on razor blades, 16% more for body wash, etc. Most pink tax is found in personal care items, and clothing.
On average women pay around $1300(Rs. 1 Lakh +) more than men for the same goods and services.
