@KenDBerryMD There was actually a study in Asia that showed there were higher rates of autism in kids with umbilical cord blood that contained the highest amount of a downstream metabolite of linoleic acid so probably more likely caused by seed oils.
@KenDBerryMD Interesting that oatmeal didn't "cause" diabetes in the 1920's, 30's, 40's, and 50's. Your oversimplification of everything is not super helpful.
@DrNeilStone Let's see.. shower twice a week whether I need it or not ;) .. wash my hands occasionally, brush when I feel like it (no plaque or cavities), and pretty much wear the same farm clothes everyday without washing for weeks (minus undies, and not at work). Never sick. So yeah.
@ats608@KenDBerryMD Oh My God your body MAKES glucose because it is vital for life!! What is wrong with you people? Come out of the keto coma for God's sake. You are doing the exact same thing as they did in the 60's demonizing salt and saturated fat except you are doing it with glucose and insulin.
@AlMbsp@KenDBerryMD@AmDiabetesAssn Love this, great testament to validity of Peat and Dinkov's work. Berry needs to peek out of the carnivore cult woolcovering his eyes and pay attentive to this.
@KenDBerryMD Yes but instructing them "just not to eat carbs" is also incorrect and like draining the swimming pool because someone drowned instead of teaching people how to swim
@JustAmovie@KenDBerryMD The 2 people I mentioned have SO MUCH good info on insulin resistance. You need to correct that but not with the super reductionist "just don't eat any sugar" mentality.
@JustAmovie@KenDBerryMD Great question and yes, carb intake should be titrated to your activity level. A lot of people have trouble with cardio on keto or carnivore for this reason. Your liver goes into overdrive trying to support the energy demands both in the short term and with long term adherence.
@JustAmovie@KenDBerryMD Of course!! In a very energetically expensive process called gluconeogenesis which raises the stress hormone cortisol. Look it up. How do you think you maintain your blood sugar?
@KenDBerryMD Your entire CNS runs on glucose. You can choose to eat some fruit, honey, dairy, or starch (whatever works for you), or you can run on cortisol and force your liver into constant gluconeogenesis. Your kids eat dairy and fruit. Why is that? Is "natural sugar" only bad for adults?
@KenDBerryMD What I find hilarious is that my chickens don't want any vegetables (I don't eat them either but I've had them on occasion and tried to give them the leftovers). They only want meat and fruit.
Two news outlets this week report that @DrCaliff_FDA does not understand the financial incentives of insurers;
After stating misinformation about their financial model, he asks them to do the FDA's job.
