In December 2022, ChatGPT launched and disrupted our 9-month-old startup overnight. We were building a chat-based learning platform — hand-crafted conversation trees, months of work. Suddenly, anyone could ask ChatGPT anything for free.
But we didn't panic. We doubled down on what we knew: L&D and content creation. And we got to work. We started experimenting with every AI model we could find — writing scripts, generating images for courses, building out media production pipelines. Not as a side project. With real clients, on real deliverables. Every project taught us something. Which models work for what. What prompts produce quality. Where AI saves time and where it still needs a human. We built that knowledge through reps, not research.
Then came the opportunity that validated everything — Karmayogi Bharat, the Government of India's learning platform. We created the most enrolled course on the platform. Followed by 15+ high quality courses over two years. 1 lakh+ learners. 4.2/5 rating.
As AI capabilities grew, so did what we could offer. We introduced interactive AI avatars as a learning tool. We built internal software to solve our own production problems — like a frame-by-frame AI grammar checker for videos, because our team couldn't proofread their own work without confirmation bias. And now, as AI coding, agents and automations have matured, we run our entire content generation operation on AI.
Three years of building in the open taught us exactly what organizations need right now — and we've built the capability to deliver it.
Today we're making it official. The Learner Company is now an AI + Learning Studio. New positioning. New website. Three products we've been quietly building — now in the open.
