Mushroom v1.52 → v1.58: what's new 🍄

Mushroom is a little pixel-art companion that lives on your desktop, reminds you to drink, eat and take breaks, and chats with you on-device. Here's what shipped since v1.51:

A news window. Your own RSS feeds in one place, with search, a filter for each feed and a short summary under every headline. It can open by itself at the times you pick.

Summarize the news. A few short points about the articles in view, each one linked to its source. It runs with whatever model chat uses: Apple Intelligence, a local model, or your own server.

Bring your own model. Point chat at OpenAI, Ollama, LM Studio or any OpenAI-compatible server. It's off by default and asks before anything leaves your computer.

Windows grew up. Self-updating, German, French, Spanish and Japanese, mood check-ins, a pet that stands on the taskbar, and a sparkling water sphere look.

Out of the way. When a window fills the screen, your mushroom jumps out of sight and comes back when it's gone.

Weather at a glance. Set your town and a little weather emoji sits beside your mushroom.
