@KMargaretta Aw, ty for not forgetting us! For lots of good reasons life has gotten busy for the both of us, but we're reluctant - maybe foolishly so - to conclude, like the E20 crew, that means we can't do a weekly podcast anymore. We're always talking about coming back so who knows...

The solution to this isn't to blame whoever the EP is at the time, but instead, re-establish the show's core identity, & hire writers able to authentically write according to that identity but who also understand society as it exists today

EE has actually been fairly entertaining recently, but more generally its become beholden to its own success. Some time ago the show made a decision that retaining the setup that delivered its astronomical viewer figures took precedent over authentic portrayals

The priority then becomes finding producers & writers who'll deliver viewers, as opposed to those who can accurately portray working class, multicultural east london. This means the tone & quality will wildly shift depending on which EP is making their imprint on the show

@Noir4Moon I take the point, but generally I don't think its good to make monsters out of abusers. Lots of people are abusers, people who are otherwise "good". Turning him into a serial killer makes it too black and white. It would have been more interesting to make him utterly ordinary

@Noir4Moon Arguably Kheerat was the narcissist in this situation, and Gray was selfless. Two people needing saving, and then because of Kheerat going in, three people needed saving. Gray was by the front door, and could have walked out - instead he called out & then went upstairs

@northbound24 I don't see why either felt even vaguely qualified to save someone from a burning building, and neither has a particularly strong connection to the people involved. The logical thing would be they would tell other people. The only reason they did was to give Gray a moment
