“The literature doesn’t say that.”
“Where is your literature to back this up?”
“Top coaches don’t use the literature… Get rid of those damn books, man. They write down what you want to hear. Athletics isn’t an honest sport.”
A lot of coaches change their programmes based on their injury history, rather than personalising it to the individuals injury risk! Don’t allow your baggage to alter your athletes training programme!
This is wild..
At India's Delhi state meet, athletes heard doping control was coming... So they didn't show up.
1 out of 8 finalists ran the 100m
In the steeple, a runner finished & kept running. Doping control chased her down

Hands on knees recovery > Hands on your head
A lot of our coaches had it wrong back in the day, and there’s research to back it up.
In this thread I’ll explain the biomechanical reasons why “hands on knees” is superior.
Stress is not inherently bad.
It can be a catalyst for growth if we manage it well.
Rest is not inherently good. It can be a source of stagnation if we overdo it.
It's about balancing stress and rest.
Do you invest as much time planning your nutrition and recovery, as you spend on planning your training sessions? If not, why not? #training#recovery#time#trainingschedule
