Went to a gym in Kukatpally today.
I was doing an exercise wrong.
A bro in his 40s, full built, walked up and corrected me.
We started talking casually.
I asked him what he does.
He said he runs 6 gyms.
Then I asked him something I keep thinking about:
“Has migration to Hyderabad slowed down?”
He smiled and said:
“More than ever.”
Then came the real shock.
He said he makes around ₹6–10 lakhs per month from gyms.
With his catering business included, he is doing close to ₹1 Cr net income per year.
To earn ₹1 Cr post-tax in a job, you probably need ₹1.6–1.7 Cr CTC.
He also employs around 25 people.
And he is from Khammam. Not typical Andhra hostel owner
This is what Hyderabad’s IT ecosystem has quietly created.
Not just software jobs.
Gyms.
Hostels.
Catering.
Salons.
Restaurants.
Real estate.
Services.
Thousands of local entrepreneurs became crorepatis by serving the migration economy.
Hyderabad IT didn’t just create employees.
It created an entire wealth ecosystem around them.

After 79 years of independence, India has finally built its first homemade MRI machine.
Bengaluru startup VoxelGrids, backed by Zoho, spent 12 years developing a fully indigenous 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner. It skips the costly liquid helium used in traditional machines, making it around 40% cheaper to build and far more energy efficient.
The scanner is already up and running at Chandrapur Cancer Care Foundation near Nagpur, helping cut India's heavy reliance on imported medical equipment from global giants.
With India having only about 5,000 MRI machines for its entire population, this breakthrough could mean faster, cheaper scans for smaller hospitals and rural areas in the years ahead.
A proud moment for homegrown innovation.
Her name is Shwetha.
She is a software engineer in Bengaluru.
She had been living in a flat in Seegehalli, on the eastern edge of the city, with her partner, Kenneth.
According to the police, her family strongly opposed the relationship.
On Monday night, three members of her family came to the flat.
Her father, Somasundar, was 55 years old. Her mother, Muthulakshmi, was 48. Her younger sister, Supriya, was 19.
Police say they had come to confront the couple over two issues, their relationship and the discovery that the couple was carrying loans of nearly thirty lakh rupees.
According to the investigation, an argument broke out inside the flat.
By the end of the night, all three family members were dead.
Police say Shwetha’s father managed to drag himself to the staircase, where a security guard found him seriously injured.
Before he died, he reportedly told the guard that his wife and younger daughter were still inside the flat.
Police allege that Shwetha and Kenneth carried out the killings and later escaped through the balcony.
According to investigators, the two crossed into Tamil Nadu and separated.
Shwetha was later traced to a hotel in Puducherry and detained.
In her statement to the police, she reportedly said she had felt like a prisoner in her own home from her school days until she completed engineering, and that she had come to hate her mother.
These are allegations made during the investigation.
Neither accused has been tried, and none of the allegations have been proven in court.
Police say the investigation is continuing and that the full sequence of events inside the flat is still being pieced together.
Shwetha has given investigators her version of events.
What happened that night, and who is legally responsible, is now for the courts to decide.
