4/4 Ask Him...”Lord, how do You see her? How can I love her? How can I offer her hope?”
She may not receive it at the time.
But she may never forget it.
Love outside yourself.
She is cherished.
Valuable.
A daughter of the same God as you.

🧵 1/4: In this picture I was 18 years old.
Unsaved.
Hated God.
Lost. Mad. Afraid. Atheist.
I was the girl with the bad reputation.
I was the girl the others called a “slut”.
The ones that called me that didn’t know my story.
3/4 So when you see a young girl in revealing clothes looking what you might call “easy” ...before you judge..think about her story...why is she seeking to be noticed?
Her story might be similar to mine.
So instead of judging her try asking God to see her differently.
An often overlooked, but crucial element of mental health is individuation, or the process of emotionally separating from the family of origin to develop an independent and unique sense of self.
When we do not fully individuate we can experience depression-like symptoms, or compulsive behaviors as part of our under-developed sense of self.
The move from dependence to independence is a bedrock of many other important developmental steps.
When we remain dependent, we have a sense that the world, or others dictate our life to us and have little or no sense of personal agency. The belief that our life and it's outcomes depend on the world around us often leads to bitterness and despair.
This can lead to a life of blame and a sense of powerlessness.
Fully individuated people have a strong sense of personal responsibility, internal stability, and the power to impact their future.
By definition, no one can take this journey for you.
If you believe others have the key to your future, you are unlikely to look at yourself, yet this internal search is the key to your freedom.
God’s voice is the creative force that brought into existence all that is. When God speaks, He is delivering far more than mere information and concepts. God’s voice is the way His power is transferred from one place to another &delivering the very reality that His words contain.
I will be presenting the core of my Freedom Model at this Christian Counselors of Texas conference... would love to have you join us!! https://t.co/4kT7nczHkW
Definitions matter.
The way we define freedom draws our focus and attention to whatever we define as freedom
Define it incorrectly, we will work hard in the wrong direction.

Often the first step towards freedom is to get free from limiting definitions.
When we think only about what we are going to be free from, we define freedom as the absence of something.
Freedom is not about the absence of something, but about the presence of Someone
The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. And there are times when it feels like he has succeeded.
And remember… The enemy never succeeds.
He may try to steal moments, but God has your lifetime!
Freedom is FUN
Today is a great day to reflect on all of the hard work you have done in your freedom journey
Even if you just started yesterday, you have made progress
So take some time and write out some places that you have experienced breakthrough!
Happy Freedom Journey Day!
They are designed to connect us to ourselves and also alert us to places in ourselves that need to be cared for.
So when big emotions pop up, take some time to ask God what they are trying to show you.
Then respond from that connection.
🥰
Some of us have been told that our emotions will lie to us, and we shouldn’t trust them.
God created every single emotion. So how could they be liars?
Emotions are indicators of what we believe and what’s going on inside of us.
Everything has a consequence: good and bad. Shame doesn't help you sort out new ways of doing things, it promotes self-hatred and fear.
Grace gives you eyes to see a new way that offers hope and healing.
Do that. 😉

We’ve all heard, “Action speaks louder than words.”
So if you’re in a relationship where the words sound amazing or even hopeful
listen AND pay attention to see if the words are followed by action.
You will know what true change looks like when the words match their actions
We know that all plants need water to live and thrive. It's the life force that allows them to grow, be healthy, and for some, bear fruit. Similarly, our souls come alive by taking in and receiving this thing called Life.
Jesus came to give Life and Life abundantly. Not new strategies to behave better or to make sure we learn the "right things"... He came to give us the thing our souls thirst for...Life.
So, take this moment and "soak in" this life that makes you alive.
