Create. Curate. Iterate.
// Thinkable Desktop Studio
A modular tangible thinking space for creative work. Work on ideas without distraction, stay focused and in creative flow.
// How it works
To start, throw every productivity rule out the window - it destroys the creative process. Creativity and productivity exist on a spectrum and when you do one, it costs you the other.
Welcome to the messy middle.
Thinkable is a place where you can visualize your thoughts and ideas and then keep them in sight, top of mind, and in reach. Where you can effortlessly iterate, synthesize and collaborate with yourself, while expanding your mind, creative field of view and explore your ideas.
// Why should you listen to me?
I’ve done a lot of design, both physical and digital. Everything you see at thinkable I’ve crafted - ID / brand / copy / web / product / artwork / photography / film. Judge the work, it’s opinionated.
I even spent a year writing a book on the topic (of Tangible Thinking).
// coming soon. Sign up for the Kickstarter announcement. Link in bio.
@mattpocockuk Maybe, just maybe, text is not the best way to design. I think we should invent something more visual. I know - A canvas. We could call it Figma, or Sketch or Paper or something
Everyones running around building a second brain, but are forgetting to use their minds.
What’s wrong with wanting to build a second brain? (you say)
Opportunity cost.

Why do some people think AI output is 'terrible', and yet others find it 'amazing'?
It's a function of what they know.
Out-of-the-box AI results will always amaze those who don't have competence in a given area. It will frustrate those who do. The more you know something, the more you're aware of the limits of what's produced.
How do we get good results?
We have to shape the output. We have to orchestrate AI.
"What if devices weren't consumption-centric?"
SUO is the design of a speculative companion device that challenges the current mobile form factor by asking one question.
To create this, I started in sketching the form, and only when it became clear what I wanted to build did I start prototyping (Sketch/Autodesk Fusion). I was heavily influenced by the Thinkable form.
Designing the camera application was pure joy.
I’ve been sitting on this design for a year, wondering what to do with it. It’s time to share it.
DM me if you’re looking to design what’s next.
