🚒 Did you know?
Firefighters can “see” through thick, black smoke.
We use a handheld thermal imaging camera that doesn’t use light at all—it reads heat instead.
That means in a burning building, we can spot a person, a pet or hidden fire… even when it's zero-visibility.
We’re so proud of our GE Team! 🚒 On March 8th, they tackled the Fight For Air Climb—full gear, air masks, and all!
Not only did they support clean air and lung health, they got some team bonding… and earned an extra day off from the gym (though we doubt they’ll take it 😉).

What are those bright yellow “icy water” suits rescuers wear? They’re cold-water rescue suits — basically survival armor against freezing temps. After every call, they get a full scrub so they’re clean, safe, and ready for the next save. #RespectTheGear#VolunteerFirefighters
We're thankful to FF Patrick Ryan for his service to the Village as a volunteer firefighter and for going the extra mile to capture great photography. Thank you for the exceptional shots, Patrick!
