Ministry of Education conducts activity assessment meeting

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and Adi-Halo Human Resources Office, conducted an activity assessment meeting on the progress of pre-education services for 2025/2026 from 23 to 25 June at the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers Hall.

The meeting was attended by the Governors of the six regions of the country, heads and representatives of ministries, partners, as well as invited guests.

Indicating the substantial investment made by the EPLF during the armed struggle for independence and by the Government of Eritrea after independence in the education sector, Ambassador Abdella Musa, Minister of Local Government, commended the initiative to establish pre-schools in all villages across the country. He also reminded administrations at all levels of their responsibility in the effort.

Dr. Halima Mohammed, Minister of Education, on her part, noted that the policy of the Ministry of Education to provide equal access to education is a central pillar in the journey to ensure social justice. She also said that, in Eritrea, basic education is a free and obligatory citizenship right.

Noting that, as part of the program initiated at the national level to expand pre-education opportunities, pre-schools have been established in all villages and training programs have been organized for about six thousand female pre-school teachers, Dr. Halima said that the successful program has been implemented through the coordination of Adi-Halo Human Resources Office and the involvement of other partner institutions.

Heads of education branches in the regions also provided reports regarding the progress of pre-education in general, and the construction of new pre-schools and renovation of existing ones in particular, in terms of the success registered and the experience gained.

The participants conducted extensive discussions on the reports presented, as well as on the activity programs for 2026/2027.

Today, Eritrea bids farewell
not only to the mother of a national figure,
but to a woman whose life reminds us
that behind every chapter of history
there are mothers whose names may be spoken softly,
yet whose influence echoes through generations.

May her memory remain a blessing.

May her example continue to inspire.

And may her legacy live on
where all true greatness begins—

Who is my brother? Who is my sister?

Any Eritrean patriot is my brother. Any Eritrean patriot is my sister. They do not have to worship the same God. They do not have to speak the same language. They do not have to be born of the same region. They do not need to look like me or sound like me. All they have to do is value the entire Eritrean national fabric above all else. Above religion, region, ideology, and any other consideration. Any other conception of your national identity is counterproductive and a big reason why we are where we are today.
Eritrea is a country of nine ethnic groups living in harmony. In Eritrea, “Unity in Diversity” is a basic principle of nation-building and national development efforts. Despite our differences and through our historical experiences Eritrea’s diverse groups voluntarily agreed to unite as one nation. Eritrea has achieved national unity and national identity. However, this cannot be taken for granted. It needs continuous attention and efforts to strengthen and improve its substance. In order to give sustenance to Eritrea’s national unity and identity, we must continue to combat divisive tendencies that may emerge in various forms.

Blessed is the womb that gave so much to Eritrea. Rest in peace, Mama Adanesh Berhe—a heroic matriarch who raised 14 children, sending 9 to the liberation struggle and sacrificing two for our nation's independence. My deepest, most heartfelt condolences go out to H.E. President Isaias Afwerki, the entire family, and the people of Eritrea. May they find strength in her incredible legacy. 

Eritrea is truly anchored by a generation of mothers who bore immense sacrifices in silence. What makes our nation exceptional is that our leadership and the first family lead by example—they do not live above the people, but rather with the people. The President and his family live simply among the public as everyday citizens, without special privilege, leverage, or pretense.

• ኣብ’ቲ ህሞት ብግፍዒ ጸላኢ ካብ ዝተቐትሉ ሰላማውያን ሰባት መን ትዝክር፧

እቲ ቅትለት ወይ ምርሻን በብኸባቢኡ ዝርአ ዝነበረ ኣሰቃቒ ተግባር’ዩ ነይሩ። ኣብ’ዚ ዝጠቐስክዎ ህሞት፡ ብወተሃደራት ጸላኢ ብግፍዒ ካብ ዝተቐትሉ ኣነ ዝዝክሮም ንጹሃት ደቂ ሰርሓ-እምባድሓን ድማ፡ ኣቶ ገረኪዳን ኣብርሃ፣ ኣቶ በላም ሓድጉ ተኽለ፣ ሸቃ ፍትዊ ኪዳነ፣ ቀሺ ወልደዮውሃንስ ወልደሳሙኤል፣ ኣቶ በላም ገረጻድቕ (እምባድሓን) እዮም። ብዘይካ’ዚ፡ ሽዑ ጨውዮም ዝወሰድዎም ከም እኒ ኣቶ ለገሰ ቀሺ ገብረን ኣቶ ገረህላሰ ተስፋይን ዝተባህሉ ንጹሃን ሰባት ሃለዋቶም ዝጠፍአ’ውን ኣለዉ።

• ብሓፈሻ፡ ጭካነ ጸላኢ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝብና ስንብራቱ ክሳብ ክንደይ ከቢድ ነይሩ፧

ጸላእቲ ኣብ ‘እከይ መዝገብ ልቦም ዘስፈርዎ እከይ ሓሳብ’ የተግብሩ ማለት ንህዝቢ ዓቕሉ ኣጽቢብካ ንምርዓድ ዘካይድዎ ዝነበሩ ‘ግብረ ሽበራ’ ተባሂሉ ክግለጽ ዝክኣልን መላግቦ ሰንሰለት ህዝብን ሰውራን ንምብታኽ ዝፍጽምዎ ምንባሮምን፡ ምስ ግዜ ብኣእምሮ ምስ በሰልካ እዩ ነጺሩ ዝርደኣካ። ስለዚ፡ ተግባር ጭካነ ጸላኢ ደኣ’ሞ እንታይ ክብሃል እዩ! ክንደይ ምዉቕ ናብራ ስድራቤታት ቁሪ ኣትዩዎ’ዩ። ኣደታት ኣሚነን ስኢነን ማእሚነን፡ ቈልዑ ብዘይ ወለዲ ተሪፎም ዘኽቲሞም። ኣብ ዝኽትምና ዘሎ ጸገም፡ ምስትምሳልን ሞራላዊ ሃስያን ከቢድ እዩ። ክፉእ እዋን ነይሩ፣ “መርድእ” ዝበዝሓሉ ሕሱም እዋን ነይሩ። ሰራዊት ኢትዮጵያ ሰላማውያን ሰባት ምቕታሎምን ዓዲታት ምቅጻሎምን መርኣያ ጥርዚ ጭካነኦም እዩ።

• ምቅጻል ዓዲታት ብኸመይ ይፍጸም፧ ቀንዲ ዕላማኡ ኸ እንታይ እዩ፧

ናብ እተፈላለዩ ቦታታት እናኸዱ ወይ እናዞሩ፡ ሓዊ እናረኩዑን ተተኮስቲ እናኣባርዑን ዘቃጽሉወን ዓድታት ከምዝነበራ ንሰምዕ ነይርና ኢና። ካልእ፡ ምስ ውግእ ኣመሳሲሎም ዘቃጽልዎ ነይሩ። ህዝቢ ኣብ ማሙቕ ቤቱ ከሎ ዘቃጽልዎ ገዛውቲ’ውን ነይሩ። ስለዚ፡ ኣብ እተፈላለዩ ቦታታት ናይ ሃገርና ዝፍጸም ዝነበረ ባርባራዊ ተግባራት ምንባሩ ዝፍለጥ እዩ። ዳሕራይ ኣብ ገድላዊ ህይወት’ውን ከም እንፈልጦ፡ ጸላኢ ዓድታት ምቅጻል ብዝተፈላለየ መንገዲ ይፍጽሞ ነይሩ። ምስ ውግእ ኣመሳሲሎም ብከቢድ ብረት የቃጽልዎ፡ ብሰንኪ ኲናት፡ ነበርቲ ዓዲ ገዲፎም ምስ ኣምለጡ/ ሃደሙ ከምኡ’ውን ገዛ ገዛ እናኸዱ ብጭካነ ሓዊ እናረኩዑ ዓዲ ምሉእ የቃጽልዎ።

ዓዲታት ምቅጻል ማለት ቀሊል ግፍዒ ኣይኮነን፣ ሰባብ ዕላማ ኣለዎ። ስርዓታት ኢትዮጵያ እቲ “ኤርትራ መሬታ እምበር ሰባ ኣየድልየናን እዩ” ዝብል እከይ ዕላማኦም፡ መተግበሪ ዝፍጽምዎ ርኹስ ዕላማ እዩ ነይሩ። ስለዚ፡ ሱር መሰረት ኤርትራዊ ንምጥፋእ ዝዓለመ እዩ። ጸላእቲ፡ ሃገርና ጎቢጦም ከይኣኽሎም፡ ክንጸንትን ፈቖድኡ ስደት ክንበታተንን እከይ ተግባራቶም ተጠቒሞም ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ሰፍ ዘይብል ኣሰቃቒ ግፍዕታት ኣውሪዶም እዮም።

ኣብ መፋርቕ ሰብዓታት፡ ገድሊ ቅድሚ ምውጻእና፡ ከም መንእሰያት መጠን ካብ ቁጥዑን ሕሩንን መንፈስ ነቒልና “ክንጋደል ኣሎና” ዝብል ኒሕ ሒዙና ነይሩ። ናብ ናይ ብሕተይ ድርኺት ክመልሰካ፡ ተጋደልቲ ኮለኛ ጸላኢ መካይን ምስ ኣቃጸሉ፡ ነቶም ደብሪ ገዳም ኣቡነ-ብሩኽ ዝረኣኽዎም እሞ ድማ ሽምጦምን ዕጥቆምን ዝመሰጡኒ ተጋደልቲ ኣዘኻኺሩኒ። እዚኦም ደኣ’ሞ ህዝብን ሃገርን ሓራ ዘውጽኡ ተቓለስቲ እንድዮም እውን በልኩ። ብወገነይ ብኸምዚን ካልእን ተደሪኸ ኣብ በረኻ ሰፊረ ክጋደል ብሂገ።

ኣብ ፈለማ ኣእምሮይ፡ ካብ ደብሪ ናብ ገድሊ ኣንፈቱ ክሕዝ ግና፡ ፈታኒ ነይሩ። ከመይ’ሲ ካብ እምነት ናብ ሃገራውነት’የ ዘምርሕ ዘለኹ። እንተኾነ ከም’ቲ ኣብ ዝሓለፈ ዘተንባህኩልካ “ዝበዝሕ ህዝቢ ንምድሓን፡ ንሃገርካ ምቅላስ ቅዱስ ተግባር ወሲደዮ። ኣብ መጻሕፍቲ እምነት’ውን ምእንቲ ዝበዝሐ ህዝቢ መስዋእቲ ምኽፋል ቅዱስ ተግባር ምዃኑ ተማሂርና ኢና። በቃ ኣብ መወዳእታ ብዘይውልውል ብዘይሰጋእ መጋእ ነጺሀ ክጋደል ወሲነ።

• ወሲንካ ክትጋደል ኣብ ዝኸድካሉ እዋን፡ ተጋደልቲ ኣበይ ጸኒሖሙኻ፧

ኣብ 1975 ዓ/ም ንክንጋደል ክልተ ግዜ ጸሮና ወሪድና። እንተኾነ ተጋደልቲ ስኢንና ተመሊስና። ድሕሪኡ ኣብ ወርሒ 1/1976 ዓ/ም ኣብ መገሻ ከለኹ “ጀብሃ ኣብ ‘ኣሕዝ’ መንእሰያት ይኸትቡ (የዕጥቑ) ኣለዉ” ዝብል ጭቡጥ ሓበሬታ ረኺበ። ሻቡ ኣድጊ ምስ ጽዕነቱ ኣብ ጥሑና ዛላኣንበሳ ገዲፈ፡ ምስ ካልኣየይ ብምዃን ዝፈልጡና ሰባት ከይረኽቡና፡ እልይ ብዝበለ ቦታ መንገዲ 3 ሰዓት ብዘብዘብ ኣብ ኣሕዝ ኣብታ ዓማቚ ዓዲ ደበኽ በልና። ኣብኡ ብዙሓት መንእሰያት ተኣኪቦም ጸኒሖሙና። ምስኣቶም ተጸንቢርና ብሓባር ኩላትና መስርዕ ተሰሪዕና። ኮማንድስ ነበር ሓለቓ ሚእቲ ዘርኣይ ዝተባህለ ተጋዳላይ ጀብሃ እዩ ኣብቲ ቦታ ከዕጥቕ ጸኒሑና። ሽዑ ዝተጠቕመሉ ረቛሒታት ቁመና ማለት ጉብዝና፡ ምንቅስቓስ፡ ጉያ፡ እናዞረ ኣትኲሩ ብምጥማት ይመዝን። ኣብ መስርዕ ሰጥ ኢልና ጸኒዕና፡ ‘ወይለይ! ምሕላፍን ምግላፍን እውን ኣለዎ ዲዩ፧’ እናበልና ብውሽጥና ዕጫና ተሃንጢና ንጽበይ። ብዝኾነ ብቑዓት እዮም ዝበሎም መንእሰያት ካብ መስርዕ ሓሓደ ኣውጺኡ። ብወገነይ፡ ካብ’ቶም በቲ ተጋዳላይ ተቐባልነት ረኺቦም ዝተሓርዩ ነበርኩ። ዝተረፉ ካልኦት ግና ንዓዶም ክምለሱ ሓቢሩዎም።

እቶም ክንጋደል ዝተመረጽና ናብ ካልእ ስንጭሮ ወሲዱ ኣኼባ ኣካይዱልና። ብዙሕ ተዛሪቡና “ካብ ሎሚ ተጋደልቲ ኢኹም፣ ተጋዳላይ ማለት ጽምኢ፡ ማይ፡ ጥምየት፡ ዕርቃን፡ ሃሩር፡ ቀዝሒ፡ ድኻም፡ ሕማም… ተጻዊሩ፡ ንጸላእቱ ብጥይት ቀቲሉ፡ ናጽነት ኤርትራ ብቕልጽሙ ዘምጽእ ማለት እዩ። ኣብዚ እዋን ሓደ ተጋዳላይ ክንዲ ሽሕ ጦር ሰራዊት ኢትዮጵያ ከም ዝቑጸር ክትፈልጡ ኣለኩም” ብምባል ተረርትን ስጡማትን ቃላት ኣብ ኣእምሮና ከም ዝዓልቡ ገበረ። ኣስዕብ ኣቢሉ 5 ለካቲት 1976 ዓ/ም ኣብ’ዚ ቦታ ተረኸቡ ዝብል ትእዛዝ ሂቡ ኣፋነወና። ኣብ ዓዲ ንቘጸራ ብምስጢር ሒዝናዮ ቀኒና። ኣብ ልክዕ ቆጸራና ተረኺብና። ኣብኡ ዝጸንሓና ተጋዳላይ ‘ሰብ ቆጸራ ኢና’ ምስ በልናዮ፡ ኣብ “ዓዲ ሓርገጽ ተረኸቡ ተባሂልኩም” ዝብል መልእኽቲ ሃበና። ኣብኡ ክጋደሉ ምስ ዝመጽኡ መንእሰያት ተሓዊስና፡ ብሓባር ጉዞ ብእግሪ ተታሓሒዝናዮ። ዓቐብ ቁልቁለት ዝበዝሖ ቦታታት ሰንጢቕና ብምሸት ዓዲ ሓርገጽ በጻሕና። ኣብኡ’ውን ክጋደሉ ዝመጽኡ ሓያሎ መንእሰያት ጸንሑና። ኣብኡ ሓዲርና ውዒልና’ውን። ኣብ ዓዲ ሓርገጽ ከኣ “ኣብ ሓላይ ተረኸቡ” ዝብል ሓበሬታ እዩ ጸኒሑና። ሕጂ’ውን ጉዕዞና ናብ ሓላይ ኣቕንዐ። ሸነኽ ምብራቕ ኣንፈት ሒዝና፡ ብምሸት ኳዕቲት ሓሊፍና። ካብ ዓዲ ቀይሕ ንሸነኽ ምዕራብ ሸሞንቶ ኪሎ ሜትር ዝኸውን ፍንትት ኢልና ዓረት ተባሂሉ ዝፍለጥ ከባቢ ብመንጎ ዝባን ዓዲታት ኣባሰለማን ዓደውገይራን ኣኻውሕ ዝበዝሖ ቅርጺ መሬት ቁልቁል ወሪድና ብጸልማት ጸሊም ጽርግያ ቅጥራን ሰንጢቕና ኣውህነ ዝተባህለ ዓዲ በጻሕና። ካብኡ ቀጺልና ዓቐብ ወጺእና፡ ጎላጉል ዓዲታት ደርዓን ሰምድን ሓሊፍና፡ ኣብ ዝተሓበረና ዓዲ ሓላይ ተረኸብና።

• ኣብ ጉዕዞኹም መን ይመርሓኩም ነይሩ፧

ዝመርሓና ሰብ ኣይነበረን፣ ባዕልና ንባዕልና ኢና ንወሃሃድ ዝነበርና። ኣብ ዝኸድናዮ፡ “ኣብ ከምዚ ቦታ ተረኸቡ” ዝብል ጥረ መልእኽቲ ጥራይ’ዩ ኣብ በብቦታኡ ብዝጸንሑና ተጋደልቲ ዝንገረና ነይሩ። ብዝኾነ፡ ጉዕዞና ከምዚ ኮይኑ፡ ኣብ ሓላይ ምስ በጻሕና’ውን ካብን ናብን ነይሩዎ እዩ። ኣብ መወዳኣታ ከኣ፡ ተጋደልቲ ተ.ሓ.ኤ ብሩባ ሓዳስ ገይሮም ሒዞሙና ሳሕል ኣምርሑ። ካብ ብዙሕ ቦታታት ዝተኣኻኸብና 180 ኣባጽሕ መንእሰያት ነበርና። ጉዕዞ ተታሓሓዝናዮ፣ ወንን ንእስነትን ኣሎ። ሓያል ሃሩር ዝነበሮ ኣዝዩ ጽንኩር ጉዕዞ እዩ ዝነበረ። ነዊሕ ናይ እግሪ ጉዕዞ ጥሜት፡ ጽምን ድኻምን ዝተሓወሶ ኩነታት በዲህና ከኣ፡ ድሕሪ ሓያሎ መዓልታት ኣብ ሳሕል በጺሕና።

• ድሕሪኡ’ኸ ናበይ ኣበልኩም፧

ኣብ ዓራግ እንዲና ኣቲና። ኣብኡ ኣዕሪፍና ኣብ ዓራግ ከም እንዕለም ተገሊጹልና። ግቡእ ታዕሊም ወሲድና ከኣ፡ ተወዚዕና። ኣነ፡ ካብቶም ኮማንዶ ክዕለሙ ዝተመርጹ ተዓለምቲ ሓደ ኮይነ። ንኣዋርሕ ዝቐጸለ ኮማንዶ ሰልጢንና ከኣ፡ ታዕሊምና ወዲእና። ድሕሪኡ ኣብ መሳርዕ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ ተወዚዕና። ኣብ ተዋጋኢ ሰራዊት ኣሃዱ ሓይሊ 171 ካልኣይ ጋንታ፡ ቀዳማይ መስርዕ (መስርዕ ወዲ ሃይለ) ተመዲበ ድማ ቃልሰይ ፈሊመዮ።

ኣብ ጉዕዞ ቃልሲ፡ ኣብ ዝበዝሕ ኣካይዳታት መሪሕነት ውድብ ተጋድሎ ሓርነት ኤርትራ፡ ጸገማት ከምዘሎ እናተሰወጠና መጺኡ እዩ። ነፍሲ-ወከፍ ተጋዳላይ ሃገሩ ሓራ ከውጽእ፡ ህዝቡ ካብ መግዛእታዊ ጭቆና ከገላግል እዩ በረኻ ወጺኡ። ብሓቂ ተጋዳላይ ንጹህ እዩ። ምስ ሃገራዊ ስምዒቱ ዘይሳነን ናይ ቃልሱ ወኒ ዝፈታተንን ኣካይዳታት ናይ’ቲ ውድብ፡ ኣይቅበሎን ነይሩ።

ኣብ ህ.ግ ድሕሪ ምስላፍና፡ ፈለማ ብላዕለዎት ካድራት ህዝባዊ ግንባር ዘድሊ ፖለቲካዊ ትምህርቲ ቀሲምና። ኣብ ክፍልታትን ሓይልታትን ከም እንምደብ’ውን ተገይሩ። ብወገነይ፡ ኣብ ተዋጋኢ ሰራዊት ኣብ ብርጌድ 23፡ 3ይ በጦሎኒ፡ 2ይ ሓይሊ፡ 2ይ ጋንታ፡ 3ይ መስርዕ በጺሑኒ። እታ ኣሃዱ ኣብ ውግእ ሰምሃር ኣብ ከባቢ ደጎሊ ጸኒሓትኒ። ምስ’ቶም ምሳይ ዝተመደቡ ብጾት ከኣ፡ ኣብ ቅድመ ውግእ ዓሪዶም ምስ ዝነበሩ ተጋደልቲ ህዝባዊ ግንባር ተጸንበርና።
